This is a complete and utter disaster for the eagles. Only the eagles could get themselves in this position. Finish 3rd last and walk out of a super draft with Hanneford and Liam Baker. What a putrid trade period and sadly they deserve all the criticism they receive and subsequently many bottom 4 finishes ahead.

The success of this can only be fully determined after next years draft….i am not thrilled either this year but we have the strongest draft hand next year, so we need to be a little patient with it. My frustration comes after a few years of seemingly being asleep at the wheel and not making moves to increase draft hands in 2021,22,23 by getting rid of established players. We will see

@deanbeissel2807 the glaringly obvious problem is they are fast running out of drafts to rebuild with. Tassie is imminent and the afl won't wait long for a 20th team hence diluting it further. Eagles have butchered the rebuild which started with chesser and ginbey is hardly setting the world on fire. It feels like we have wasted 2 years and then that imbecile Clarke plays these games in a super draft. Imagine Draper or Langford with reid in a few years. Oh well

Jobe Shanahan is from Moama, which is just over the Murray from Echuca on the Vic side. By car it would be about one hour to Bendigo, two hours to Melbourne and maybe 7-8 hrs to Sydney.

West Coast should take Murphy Reid. Just think he will compliment Harley and Hewitt as he is a different type of Midfielder. But West Coast need to get an extra pick in the top 30. The trading has been a shambles.

Nice work Jesse . I think Murphy Reid goes higher and likely at stkildas 2nd pick , Melbourne take Armstrong with there second , tigers take Allan and Eagles take Lindsay. I definitely think come draft night there is going to be a shuffle in order with live trades .

The more I look at Tauru, the more I think North may be thinking about him up front and not necessarily as a Defender. What are your thoughts on Adelaide moving up to #2 to secure Draper, Carlton grabs FOS who they probably and North gets Tauru ahead of Melbourne or Richmond at 5/6. Shouldn't cost much for Adelaide

Very cool mate. Love all the quality content. Very keen on Murphy Reid if he gets through so if those other players are gone i would be stoked with Murphy Reid at the eagles first pick. If that happens we would want Tom Gross to get through to our second. Or we push Richmond with 2025 first round(hawks) for a latish first round to get Hynes. Murphy Reid to me is a Steele Sidebottom type with the same level of smarts and skills. So would want another strong inside mid to go with it. 2 mids with our first 2 picks IMHO.

Trainer was on the radio yesterday and said he had to have 21 days off with concussion protocol and not 12 days because that's the rules for juniors. He was fine the next day. He'll be a good pick for someone. North can only do a pick swap with Adelaide or Melbourne with an agreement on who they would pick. Melb with pick 2 could grab FOS.

Good shout mate! North taking Tauru at pick 2 (3 after Ashcroft bid). In a even draft choc a block full of depth, it's no reach whatsoever for North to select Alix as it is a positional need and it facilitates both ends of the ground for North to go with what they will. North shouldn't have to settle for less in what can only be a even trade of picks with whoever comes to try trading up. I also think North will hold on trading their future 1st however and instead look to trade their F2nd should the right kind of player/s slide down the order enough. E g. Trainor, Shanahan, J.Whitlock or M.Whitlock. GWS, WB, Rich and Sydney by the looks of things in your mock draft are those very teams as North's F2nd is around that point in next year's draft and could be a projected pick 19-24. Any one of those sides could look to trade out considering North's F2nd pays them out sufficiently for a pick each team might be tempted to opt out of as it's potentially an upgrade to their pick in that range. An upgrade for any pick further down the order of pick 25 onwards. Loving your work mate and looking forward to the next mock draft.

based on your draft who would you think is the best key position back who will be available for Carlton at Pick 38? Assuming no priori Ben Camporeale bid .... O'Farrell is the legendary QC who successfully argued for Carlton's case with Patrick Cripps'first Brownlow medal & his son is Harry..... Are there any other Key talls that the Blues might consider?

As much as Travaglia and Armstrong would be a good get for Richmond, I'd rather than take a punt on Taj Hotton with one of those picks, and hopefully pick up Shanahan or Faull with a later pick for the forward stock, especially if next year is meant to be good for key position players, the Tiges don't need to stock up this year, but can wait for next year.

Just to make a rival pay a suitable price for an asset. But if the club doesn’t match, you have to be prepared to take the player, so I expect Carlton to bid on Ashcroft, assuming north keeps pick 2 because they don’t want another midfielder.

If Hotton has the highest upside of any player available at their pick Eagles should take him if he’s still there. The ACL shouldn’t scare them off as they are so far off the pace they can wait for him to recover.

I would politely disagree. Last year: Windsor and Thulstrup were not best available, but filled specific needs. No one else had them as high as Melbourne

@ good point but I know for a fact they were highest on our board. We even traded up a bunch of picks to ensure we got tholstrup who likely would have been at the later pick we had before trading to ensure we did. The only pick in recent years Melbourne hasn’t was Jefferson coz we were crying out for a key forward but that was an end of first round. Jason Taylor always picks best available with single didn’t picks I promise 👍

That's a really bad deal for Richmond. The word coming from Cal Twomey is Richmond are looking to hold all their picks and aren't looking to trade up as they are extremely happy where they sit. Twomey said that the only pick at play will be pick 24 which is the first pick in the second round which is very valuable, and Richmond will field offers for that unless there is a player that slides and they really want.
