Bald Eagle tires! Lol that was my first drag race ever. I was laughing my butt off going sideways on asphalt. I dropped 5 psi and it made a huge difference. Your club puts on an awesome event thanks! Brandon 80F

A bit of a lengthy tale coming. On the old 60's XLCH's they had a wire running through the bars that was the throttle. Consequently you could WFO the thing and there was no throttle return then you could lay down on the bike hit the kill button on the left bar and shift with your right hand. Harrison county (IN) and Bullitt county (KY) used to give us Sportster guys a hard time about that. Surprised not seeing any K models, the KHK was no slouch. This is the best video I've seen ever.

That hilarious, i wish you guys had a picture of one of you doing that in action!!!! Too funny. Yeah the internal throttle cable that i have on my 67’ FLH and on my 70’ XLCH, which after 1970 i believe a law was passed for safety purposes, and Harley had to implement a spring return cable, in the event anyone fell off their bikes the bike wouldn’t keep running!! Oh maybe they passed that law because of you guys!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Thanks for watching im glad you enjoyed the video, also thanks for commenting!!! @@SlickHeadCustomCycles Too bad you're as far away as you are, I'm in AZ and don't care for the traffic back East. I'd sure like to attend the next round of these races. My first new bike was a '67 CH. Took one' 52 FLHF (the F at the end denoted the first year of the footshift) and two "48 EL's too get up enough cash to buy the Sportster. It was the baddest thing on the street at the time. Still riding, I'm on a cammed and tuned Victory Judge these days. Woefully underrated motorcycles. Ride fast and take chances!

In 1983 I went down to the boogie in Indiana... He was in that big gathering once a year down south.. so I am packed and I started running my 73 flh .. bagger.. down the track,, and it was no no you can't.. I said how come I said there was no safety crew yet.. I just want to see how it runs... 😀

If you lived here Mo and you were at my club, we would let you run. We hold open track nights to the public. It’s $20 all you can run as much as you want. That way guys can test out their bikes and see how their bike is performing after doing work on them and shit, maybe one of those nights i have to film and do a video on as well. 👍🍺

Who was just down the street from where my wife grew up.. theory was called dog patch .. it was the little strip in town.. didn't know much about motorcycling at that time this is probably about 75 76 I guess..a friend had a BSA.. we knew when we should shift is when the valves started floating..lol.

@@SlickHeadCustomCycles Im working on getting a newer bike, Gypsy is pissing me off. Hopefully 2-3 weeks. Probably getting rid of the Ironhead and the Softail and possibly Gypsy. She's 1 more breakdown away from being sold. I'm at the age now that I want something more dependable like your Roadking, that i can do some traveling. I turn 60 this year, and i feel like time is running out, so yeah , I'm looking for another bike. 8-10 thousand dollar range, low miles.

During our normal sanctioned races we have a professional triple tree, drag lights and there is a digital time scoreboard at the finish line for those events but for this event, it’s all about the nostalgia of antique bikes. That’s why we do arm drops instead of the triple tree lights and there is no digital scoreboard timing. 👍🍺 SLICK
