That style of spare tire needs inflating before use, hence the air compressor in the frunk. Deflating the tire after use causes it to fold back up again. Pretty neat space saver tire.

On my first test drive, I was also annoyed by the regenerative braking shutting off every time I used the brakes or the accelerator. But I found out there’s a simple option in the settings to change that. Second test drive was much better! I really like the option of adjusting how much regenerative braking the car applies. While it won’t do full one pedal driving, which would be nice, it decelerates down to about 4 mph on full regenerative braking.

Love that color. Audi styling rarely misses. 10K in options?....and that's not fully loaded 🤔 A phrase I use now more often than sever before is 'rich family friendly'...but I will refrain from attaching a sticker if I see one in a parking lot.

Correct on the coasting. Good on the engineers allowing it to coast until you need to actually apply braking. Imagine a bicycle aggressively coming to a stop every time you stopped pedaling and how inefficient that would be. Let the momentum of the car carry you when it’s better to slow very gradually and glide until it’s necessary to truly slow down. People that have driven stick shifts know all about the glide in neutral and how to hypermile with it.

@jamesinsteamboat10 ай бұрын
@@richardh3587 it was on Audi USA's website. I called my dealer to try to find one, could only be Premium, not PP or Prestige and they didn't have any. Now the email from Audi shows Q4 e-trons from $199/mo. Since EV tech is improving so quickly, I think leasing makes the most sense, especially if you can score a lease deal

I have a friend who bought one of these and the car did not start after being half a day in his garage. The car was in a the shop for two weeks and they could not not fix it.. He finally emailed Audi USA and they are going buy back the car. He is going to buy the gas version. I love EV's but it looks that it takes some time for companies to make them more reliable and affordable like gas versions.

So one example makes you think that EVs aren’t ready. Ok 👌
@arminpoorfard30610 ай бұрын
@@guy420man I understand that one example does not apply to all.I personally would like my next car to be EV but they are still far from affordable and hearing stories here and there make me think maybe we should let the technology to settle down for a while although gas cars are not perfect either after all years of development and research.

For another test, find a random charging station. If it actually works, and if idiots haven’t parked there and left, see how long it actually takes to recharge the car’s batteries. Then compare that with the manufacturer’s claims.

All that scratched black trim makes it look cheap. The rear window only rolling halfway down doesn’t work for me. I’m sure it provides a confidence inspiring driving experience but the styling doesn’t work for me. I’d also like to see more controls that aren’t built into the screen. I’d prefer to have the choice to one pedal drive. Besides the massaging seats what else did you experience in this vehicle that make it feel more luxury and not just VW? Since you referenced them I’ll ask what I e asked other reviewers. What features/functions on the Model X (or any Tesla for that matter) lead you to recommend it in luxury vehicle conversations? Thanks for the review 🤙

To bad EVs are not affordable or practical. Even worse is the amount of resources used to build the batteries is considerably less abundant than what ICE, internal combustion engines use or need. That's not even bringing up the power grid to charge them demand is. Otherwise great review as always.
@davetravels927310 ай бұрын
Every EV is different. Some are worse than others. Most evs have a lower carbon footprint than an ICE vehicle of similar size within one year of use. Some less than 3 months. Evs actually help balance the grid, not strain it, especially when charged in the evenings and off-peak hours. 😉

I appreciate your concern. For background, I've reviewed cars on-camera professionally for the past 17 years with zero incidents. When conditions dictate, we pause our recordings...though that stuff gets edited out so you never see. I've also worked hard to build the skills to communicate without sacrificing situational awareness. A good example is this moment from our recent CX-50 review. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXuteGCAiMufi7csi=XaAXX6x2iTBUxAqK&t=619
