Cycle Week said "it makes a Ducati 749 feel like a dump truck " back in 2014. The original XB and into EBR geometry was the Honda RS250 GP bike. The early XB had the same 52" wheelbase. In around 08 they went to 54" , added 1" to the frame and 1" to the swingarm. All the weight is super low in the back of the frame and the front of the swingarm. EBR bought the rights to the 1125 motor, bored it to 1190 and added their combustion swirl technology to the heads and bumped a 150hp motor to 185. The motor is all EBR.

Everyone needs to experience these bikes. They are so different to what else is on the market (in a good way) that you have to feel what a bike with a good throttle is like, especially when metering out the kind of power the 1190 has in the midrange. Chase, you don’t need to worry about the traction control-when these bikes spin the rear on corner exit, they are super controllable because the torque falls off as the RPM rises. The original EBR bikes raced in AMA had no traction control while everyone else did and they were competitive right out of the box. You won’t die if the rear end spins up a little coming out of a corner, promise. ;)

Love the Buells but you gotta talk about the shitty maintenance/parts part of this bike. Because of Buells weird chain setup, you have to have the chain bowstring tight. This causes the rear and front sprockets to wear down in less than 1k miles if you are actually wringing the bike out. Front sprocket cost $224 from Sweden and the rear cost another $120. You also have to stay in a lower gear constantly to keep the bike from lugging around, which exasperates the sprocket issue/wear. Best handling bike I’ve ever been on, but the cost/fun ratio is almost that of a Ducati.

Some cheers, some applauses, some Huh?s, one guy speed dialing the local equipment rental place asking if a crane was available that evening to raise the bike a drop it from high above. And the rest looked like Chris Farley in Tommy Boy when David Spade opens the door and it falls off the hinges,,,!!?Whatdya dooo!!?...I wanted that bike badly and immediately. when I turned to the dealership owner. I got answered before saying anything in midturn. NO. You will break that too..Then I looked back at Erik and he was stuck in a one step forward and turn one away vice versa. Fight or flight.
