Well, there really aren‘t to many that do offer more bang really, especially not „bang for buck“, the few offerings that may have nominally higher HP outputs from the known Japanse & Italian brands are not exactly cheap/er than a Buell Hammerhead.

Can't wait for the 2025 BUELL SUPER CRUISER
@randreason

I’ve had my Hammerhead since late ‘22 and have loved every minute with it, and I do feel pride riding down the road with a U.S. flag on the side. I also look forward to ordering one of the SuperCruisers when they become available. One crucial piece of advice I have for prospective buyers is to make sure you have a reliable service center nearby before committing to buying. I live in a major U.S. city and took for granted the fact that the factory would have someone well qualified to handle warranty and service work in my area. This turned out not to be the case for my city. I missed out on riding for all but a few weeks of the 2023 riding season because the local service center had trouble performing a factory recall and couldn’t get it fixed right for me. Eventually Buell hauled it back to the factory in Michigan to fix it on their own dime and shipped it back to me in pristine working order. Now, though, if I need any major work done, I’ll have to risk trusting the local service center here, drive it to another state to drop it off at the service center there, or just do it myself. That’s a risk we take by supporting a great-but-small brand. Also, I wouldn’t recommend upgrading the seat on your new Buell. The red stitching and logo on mine faded to where it looks almost pink. I emailed the factory to ask if it would be covered by warranty and didn’t even receive a response. I’m planning on replacing it with the regular stock seat on my own dime.
@TheAristeros
@TheAristeros 5 ай бұрын
im curious, did you have the failure? what symptoms did you have? Or did you have it preventatively taken in? I have a 2024 HH and had the same symptoms as the recall on a non recalled model year. I contacted my dealer, they contacted Buell, and buell had a truck in my driveway 2 days later in NY to pick it up and bring it back to their factory in Grand Rapids. 6 days later, it was dropped back off in my driveway with a brand new engine and gearbox. (on their dime) FWIW to anybody reading this...... their customer service has been nothing less than stellar!!! They couldn't have done anything better to handle my issues. Big big respect to their team working behind the scenes. Jason Anderson, the director of operations and quality reached out directly to me and kept me in the loop every step of the way even sending me photos of the bike being worked on back at the factory.
@randreason
@randreason 5 ай бұрын
@@TheAristeros I didn’t have any symptoms at all, it ran fine when I dropped it off. When I got it back, the clutch had been reassembled wrong and the local shop couldn’t figure out what the problem was. It ended up sitting in the shop there for months while the factory worked with them to get it figured out. Finally I just went and picked it up. I went direct with the factory, and eventually the truck showed up to grab it just in time for winter. I’m a long ways from the factory, so it took a while to get it there and back. It was in pristine condition when I got it back though. Again, I’m very grateful for their help and love the bike to death, but am not so sure about the local service center.

Absolutely love the fact that buell lets you be in full control of their machine. There are too many bikes now where you actually can't turn off all the nannies because the manufacturer doesn't trust you, with bikes like the r1 the ecm literally has to be FLASHED to remove the aids. I realize the computers are faster but there is something beautiful about trying to tame an absolute monster.

Buell is not a machine it’s alive. I own a buell and I hunted for it, for the story and the engineering of it. I hunted down a low mile anniversary xb12R for collecting purposes. I didn’t expect much out of it based off numbers but let me tell you, the paper to how it feels ratio is way off. I’m a very good rider and it’s capable of pleasing all my needs. Love it’s raw feel and style

Had a 1125CR - total fun and no quit, just sad gas mileage - 25mph av. - my friend has a 1190x - nice and even more no quit attitude - lol - The Hammerhead is totally Buell in root - being one of the first designs for the 1190 platform long ago but axed by HD never getting fruition till now with the release of the Buell Hammerhead. Bravo - very nice indeed, that shows that the S1 was not the only timeless design by Erik Buell.

i will say to go visit the bigger bike rallies for anyone wanting to look at a buell being they've been going to them as a vendor and have their bikes out on display to sit on and see. I just got back from Sturgis and they were setup at BHHD and had their "touring bagger" type bike there on display and honestly was shocked when I went to sit on it to see how it felt on my bad ankles and knees and will say shocked by how light it was. So I would suggest biketober fest as a possible rally that they might be at or even myrtle beach that's coming up as well. Honestly though for a true US made bike minus a few parts is well worth paying the price to me.

I've got an 08 Buell 1125R with a Barkers pipe that's mapped with the ECU! Couldn't have said it better as far as the feeling of machine and rider! I'm 55 and it's the feeling I got years ago that infected me with the motorcycle sickness and is what keeps me sick today! Yes American made matters to me! To sum it all up the way I feel about describing the whole Buell package to someone, it's like, if I have to explain you wouldn't understand! But bang for the buck and then some!

OC: The looks of the Hammerhead are amazing. There's no way it couldn't draw attention from all around it. That said of all the cons Chase mentioned the heat con would keep me from getting one. One summer on a Panigale 959 was enough to have me never buy another bike that's the equivalent of riding on a oven, where you're the Wicked Witch of the West and you're absolutely melting.

Same here with 5 Buells, one of which is the 2008 1125R. I cannot imagine the 1190 HH! Got my hat for the initial $20 registration fee but just don't have room for another bike. Gave my XB9R to a good military/statie friend for his use at his rider education school because I was not using it enough. No way would I ever truly sell my Buells. The 1190 HH is an instant classic. Those that do not like nor appreciate the Buells just make it so much better for those of us who have the USA gut feeling for these living machines, there loss our gain.

I would say the online buying thing is a huge con, for me personally. I have to see it in person, etc. I watched hours and hours of videos, went to multiple dealerships trying to narrow down what bike I wanted this go around for not being on one in 4-5 years. And my first sport bike at that. The example for me is take the gsx8r and the Daytona, while they are “comparable”. the riding position is vastly different to me. No way I could have made my choice strictly online. It would have gotten sent back when I got it lol

Owner of a 24 SX here. (and 14 RX and a Uly) First real ride a guy pulled next to me at a stoplight and asked if I was on a real new Buell - just a random guy on a random road. I do own them partly because of the US made aspect. That chain whine on decel is addicting. I do intend to convert both 1190's to a 44 tooth rear sprocket. They are... cantankerous at low speed with stock gearing.

Very interesting! Onboard full Diagnostics. This is the first I have heard of it and I would buy this bike just for that if it's true. Every motor vehicle should have full Diagnostics built right in. The fact that they don't is proof that the companies are crooked and Criminal. Even if they wanted to charge more as an option it would be an option chosen by every single person buying every single motor vehicle there is. There is no excuse for not having full Diagnostics built right into every vehicle. Except for the reasoning that they want to rob you of your wallet.

Different strokes man. Besides, they don't have decades advantages for parts, materials, and manufacturing. And then of course, things tend to cost more in general when they're made here.

Now do a 1 month review of a panigale 1199. Youll realize buell is in trouble because they are competing with a bike that was better then theirs from almost a decade ago.

maintenance, reliability and comfort is where the Buell eats it all day. It makes a much better daily (for a superbike). Plus they get like 50mpg haha.

@backroadbeetle4781 except maintenance and reliability costs are nearly the same and the panigale has tech that is nearly a decade newer and better performing, yet the 1199 has been out of production for years. Buell is marketing and selling an out of date bike as new.

you pay a fortune for them, and then you can't get them worked on anywhere... buells used to be everywhere when they were harley powered...

Buell is the Bimota of America. You could say Mvagusta, but was MV really innovative? Not this century atleast .

How it is that you have a hard time understanding why you're having a hard time having pride in a product that's made in your own country? I mean, especially in this day and age where our very republic is under attack and we risk losing what it means to an American. I would like to think I would feel the same way of whatever my home country is. It's called 'patriotism' and it's a good thing. I've currently ride a Kawasaki, but have owned several Harleys. I just happen to like all kinds of cars, trucks, and motorcycles, but given the chance, I would prefer to buy American and all US citizens should. It's means more jobs for your fellow brothers and sisters.
