We race our 2024 C8 Z06 against a 2020 Shelby GT350 in a battle between the two BEST American Flat Plane Crank V8’s EVER MADE! We review what makes the 5.2 liter Voodoo engine in the GT350 and the 5.5 liter LT6 in the Z06 so special. They are both engineering marvels and as different as they are similar. Common myth. The MT82 is a stronger than the Tremec 3160. 18 and 19 MT82’s did have issues with shift forks. Wont deny that but once those are fixed it’s a stronger trans including pre 2018 models. The internet way over blows MT82 issues.

Great vid! Quick question…How much louder in cabin would you say the Paragon exhaust is vs stock? I’m currently debating exhaust vs high flow cats. Thanks!

@@mikeveres4398 in cabin the paragon exhaust isn’t really that much louder than the stock set up with the valves open. I would say you can definitely daily that exhaust set up. It is a tab louder under full throttle and on cold starts. It has a much better tone IMO though and that combined with the massive weight savings you can’t lose. The first thing I did when I started my car anyway was open the valves LOL. Paragon is a great company! I rep their stuff and I’m not sponsored because I love everything I’ve gotten from them! had a 17 gt350 now c8 z07. gt350 sounds better IMO tho C8 faster and a better car as it should be. I have a coyote gt mustang and is close with great engine but not the same as the Voodoo

The ZO6 has 145 more hp and weighs less, why was the GT350 guy so surprised it was much faster ?? The new Corvettes are very cool, but Ill keep my slower GT350 and row my own gears.

If you come around Huntsville, I'll run you in my 22GT basic Whipple set up, it would be a much more fair comparison. Although my GT will walk that Z06 like it walked the gt350, those C8 Z06 are a sick freak of a set up, the mid engine the high hp NA v8 lighter and traction etc.. and its rev match, the gt500 do a rev match /I think/but its a 8speed dual clutch

Both cars will be sought after but the z06 is a pure bred race car. The GT350 is not. Even palm beach dyno youtuber talked about this. He made a video about it and all. Even said he was jealous of the LT6 lol. He has a ford performance shop, specializes in all fords and have conceded to this. The voodoo engine is just a mocked up coyote engine. The LT6 is a race bred engine from scratch. The C8 z06 is already legendary. Because of the engine. Similar to porsche's GT3.

​@@kel50ppEh theres a lot more effort and development that went into it other than it just being newer. The Gt350 is just a fun, good drivers car and always has been. The Z06, shoot even the base C8 is a weapon hitting above its weight class and putting the car market into disarray

Have a c8 z06 and a 2018 mustang gt twin turbo kit making over 1000hp. Been 160 in both. No comparison the stang is a death trap the zo6 at them speeds is like driving a slot car felt totally in control. Stang feels like it floats around.

Ford will put the stripe back on it and I still have all the original parts that go on the car. It can be put back to factory very quickly. Plus I don’t see myself ever getting rid of it. I didn’t buy it for what it will be valued 20yrs from now, I bought it to enjoy the experience and for my kids to one day enjoy it as well.
