The Canadian content you provide is so nice to see on the Internet. The way you honored Captain Casey when you analyzed the Snowbird crash and her passing was very respectful and touched a lot of Canadian viewers. All your videos are so well done as well. Thank you!

The CF-18 demo is always a crowd pleaser on the ground and in the air. Elaborate livery changes regularly for that year's celebratory milestone. The flight demo is on par with the US Navy F-18 and EA-18G demos; however, the Canadians seem to execute more high speed passes. BTW, the CF-18s have a floodlight on the side of the fuselage. Canadian pilot said its for spotlighting "Bears" (Tu-95).

Many comments have been made about the paint scheme for the 100th Anniversary of the RCAF Demo Hornet. It is almost impossible to tell based on the video that you showed, but one of the things that the CF18 is known for is the "False Canopy" on the bottom of the jet. This year's Demo bird has the official RCAF Tartan as the False Canopy. If you see it in good light, it is very cool!

I got to see the Tiger Stripped RCAF plane at the Salinas, California Air Show a couple decades ago. I'll have to root through my photos and see if his flaps were down on the take off. The pilot explained that the landing light near the pilot's knee was not for cross wind landings at night.

I was flying for the Army out of Stuttgart and was returning from the Mediterranean coast of Spain on a train in June 1983 and I ran into a Canadian pilot based at Lahr. I think they had been flying F104s. He said they were about to switch to F-18s and they were very excited.

@@TheHoser82I think what he is saying is that the Canadian government is incompetent which it is. They spent a billion dollar not buying the sea king replacement. Imagine being over the north Atlantic in the winter time in a fkapped out 40 year old helicopter or flying a 20 year old CF104 with multiple cracks in the flap hinges. Almost killed one guy on the Dutch range when his flap peeled off in a 5 degree bomb delivery. He lived because he went into the water. His chute didn't have time to open. Our people deserve better if you are going to put them in harms way! I left in a spelling error for you to critique.

The Qatari F-15QA (the base for F-15EX) demo is really cool too, video of that is on that same channel. There's actually a couple there from different days, the second one is better because the cloudy skies give more reference to appreciate the incredible manoeuvrability. RIAT is a great show, wasn't there this year but have been many times in the past. USAF presence in recent years has been very sparse compared to what it used to be though which is a shame, although the Friday this year did have a U-2S role demo as well as one fully kitted-out returning from a real-world mission.

The Tudors do have ejection seats but they are original to the aircraft when it was first produced in the 60s. They are not 0/0 seats like modern planes have and there are flight parameters where a safe ejection is not possible. Thats exactly what happened when one crashed in Kamloops a few years ago after a bird strike. The guy who ejected first lived with minor injuries but the woman in the second seat didn't make it out in time and the chute didn't have enough time to open.

the f15ex has 20000hrs per airframe with fewer logistics requirements for our northern operations. the purchase cost per airframe is so close that it requires significant ignorance to KEEP IT OUT as an option. let's hope we get into a peer conflict so we can maximize our purchase. tongue in cheek.
