2024 Camaro SS Owner Review
After a few months of ownership, I give the real truth behind what it's like to own this machine. I'll cover the exterior, under the hood and ripping it up going down the road.

Last June I found a 2022 SS 1LE with a manual with 3100 miles just 30 miles from my house.The owner traded it in at a Cadillac dealer for a Blackwing. I bought it on the spot, cost $50k out the door. These cars were getting hard to find at the time so I didn’t argue. I can’t even find one for sale now. The car is fantastic. Needs no upgrades except maybe a change from run flat tires when the time comes. A Mach1 with track package would have been $65k in 2023. I am so glad I found my SS 1LE. I couldn’t be happier with it.

Nice congratulations good job on getting it with the six speed manual... one of the best gear boxes I have driven in my life The tremec transmission in the camaros are exceptional.

I have the 2023 SS with the 10 speed automatic. It is no slouch. Shove the pedal to the floor and the car will bang out redline shifts as fast as it can make them. Incredible!

Owned a 92' and 94', I traded in the 92' since it was one of last built in the Van Nuys CA factory and was truly a piece of junk. I did like my 94' much better but I had the V6 and it was pitifully under powered. I was hoping Chevy would update the Camaro to resemble the 94' styling since I really liked that look more than the other years. Sorry to see Camaro go!

Right! I have a 93 V6 and I love the style. Underpowered yes but a good cruiser. Had an 84 Z28 and a 74 with a 327 from a 69 Stingray. Still I like the outgoing Camaros. GM made a mistake killing it. Long live The Camaro!

I 100% agree with you in this car. And if you want to try a Lotus try to find a 410 exige from 2020. It has a 3.5L V6 with a supercharger!

I'm seriously considering a 1LE, myself but I'm almost wondering if it's _too_ much for the street? I feel like by the time you get out of 2nd gear, you're already going 2x the speed limit or more.. I might change my mind after a test drive, though.

If you’re going track it, I’d go 1LE. If you’re just wanting to rip around, SS is more than enough. I’d try to find one with Magnetic ride.

How would you compare this to the m240i? What about buying a gr86 and supercharging/turbocharging it? I like the camaro ss but am considering the m240i and gr86 as well

I would go for a manual Camaro over the m240i. If you care more about luxury finishes, go for the m240i. The Camaro has gearing much more similar to Porsche, so it feels like it has way more top end power. BRZ is pretty low-rent, feels more like a Hyundai with how crappy the material quality is. It’s a fun car but you’ll always want more. That’s how I felt in my BMW’s, I was constantly looking for something more. The best thing you could do is to test drive a V8 Camaro, m240i, m340i xdrive, older M2, Audi S5, Civic Type R. You can find a lot of these cars around. Carmax and Turo are your friend.

I still kick myself for not buying a new 1LE that I test drove in 2016. It was an amazing machine in the beautiful Hyper Blue color for $40K. One of my biggest regrets to this day.

Well, 2024 is the final year, until they bring out the next gen but I'm worried it's going to be an EV. A hybrid, at the very least.

@@hhastewell the Dodge Chargers were going all in on EV, but after the kick back they decided against it so the 2024 model will have an gas powered 6 cylinder. Which may sound a little weak sauce but considering most companies are phasing out the 8 cylinders I’d consider them muscle cars for the time.
