I own the 1500 version of this as well as a f250, the capability these vehicles offer our farming business is supreme no duelcab ute comes close. Only gripe with the chevy is they use waxed chassis ,its a black wax coating that attracts thick dust and requires maintenance to address surface rust in areas where the coating has been depleted. Can't use lanolin or petroleum based oils on it as it softens the factory coating. We put it over a hoist every 12 months and clean and re-coat with cosmoline and black oxide which is the closest product to the factory coating..

Toyo doesn't compete in the HD truck segment. The Tundra competes with the lighter duty F150, Ram 1500, GM 1500. All of these are class 2A trucks. HDs start at class 2B.
@frankmicallef28396 ай бұрын
The big issue is towing 3.5t or more is the payload at just over 700 kg is very restrictive. Remember if your van is 2.5t then you have to deduct about 250kg from your payload. 500 kg mean 2 people and not much weight in the tray, or 4 people and almost no further weight can be carried. Getting the car registered as nb2 is a lot cheaper than retro fitting it to that. So my advice is in almost all cases if you are towing 2.5 tonnes plus buy it as nb2 speced and you won’t have to worry about your weights again.

I suppose a few people might actually need this thing. I tend to count the number of Mitsu or Isuzu utes you could buy with that money and still have change left. Let alone how big a fleet of GWM or LDV utes.
@cvytnioy56dvfuj4g76 ай бұрын
But none of the utes you mentioned can do what this can
@rais19536 ай бұрын
@@cvytnioy56dvfuj4g7 Yes. The big US utes can tow a bigger load. Some people may need them for that. But for daily ute work the cheaper utes can do most things.

A towing test. Yes please, but maybe at 3.5 tonnes, not loaded to the absolute Max as not many people will do that, also when towing, instead of driving like its a race, drive just like a normal user would and see how it goes. Watching test videos where the vehicle is flooded for an hour, then towels Max load at wide open throttle and tester says, "gee it likes a drink". Real world tests please

Paul - I'd really love if you could not refer these to being "converted" to RHD. It's not like the old days where they move the steering wheel over to the other side. The cars are re-engineered to the point of almost re-manufactured.Also, I'd really love companys like yours to seriously push the biog car builders to start making these factory RHD. They keep saying there is no market for them yet we seem to keep proviing there is but still we are gettting shafted on prices. Evene if you could just make comment in your videos on these stating to the companys that they need tp ull their fingers out and do RHD factory runs also.

I drove one of these when I went to America and it is so big and dumb. It is ridiculous how big and stupid it is, wallowing down the road. It had a 5.3L V8 and it felt so slow. however, I loved every second of it and I will hire one again when I go back.

If it had a 5.3, it wasn't a 2500HD. It would have been a 1500, which are sprung much softer. You won't get a lot of wallowing in a 2500HD. I haven't driven the 2500HD with the 6.6L gas engine, but the 6.6L diesel is no slouch. If you make it to Maryland you are welcome to try out my F450.

@@rich7447 It was an RST, 2022 model. That's all I can remember! Massive, red thing. Was very nice, just not great to drive, in my opinion. Like I said though, I loved it. I appreciate your offer, not sure if we'll make it to Maryland this time. furthest we ventured was Bar Harbor in ME rom Burlington, VT.
@rich74476 ай бұрын
@@archechme Yep. The RST is a 1500. I think you would prefer the 2500HD crew cab short box. It's about the same length, has a stiffer suspension and the lowest power engine that they offer makes about 100hp more than the 5.3L. The diesel adds about another 60hp and doubles the torque of the 6.6 gas. Vermont is just around the corner! LOL.
