Probably because “bare bones” now means digital instrument cluster, infotainment system, back up camera, power windows etc… Back in the day a basic truck was 2WD, had a manual transmission, manual windows, an AM stereo and probably no AC.

The WT doesn't get the G80 locker as standard but the window sticker shows the advanced trailering package which adds the G80 back. This dealer was smart and picked the right packages with the main features without inflating the price. Missing 4WD Low is a pity but I could probably live without.

You can actually custom order them and you’ll save a good amount of money since the dealership wont do all the ridiculous add ons, I was planning on ordering one and the 2 wheel drive option with the wt package 1 and 2 and the safety package came out to about 32,400 so not bad

With turbos let them warm up for 30 secs to minute. When you stop driving do the same to cool down turbo. Change oil maybe every 4k miles not 7500 like dealer wants.

05:39 must be a dealer add on that is not listed on the window sticker as my purchase of the 2024 Colorado WT (work truck) has a quiet exhaust. My tires are filled with nitrogen, the info was in the glove box. You musta been scared to put the pedal to the medal 'cause mine does 0-60 mph in 8 seconds, the engine brake helps to slow it down. something I think has to do with the tow package. Your front door panels look plain compared to mine. Mine was bought in NM, maybe the one tested on this video was a specific for the State of Utah?

Needs a longer bed, but with the tailgate down and an extension bracket you'd have a longer bed. Bedliner from Chevy is $395, or tbh it might be $345 can't remember exactly

I've recently purchased a 2024 WT Mine has the 237 hp engine but the dealership has a factory tune that doesn't void the warranty for $400. that offers a 40 hp gain I love mine but wish that I could have gotten the turbomax 310 hp motor

@@KennyG_420 Not quite sure on that one but I would assume the Turbomax 310 is better than the V6 it’s definitely built tougher and torquier. I’ve got the 237 hp version but plan on getting the factory 40 hp flash tune upgrade No complaints here Plenty of get up and go for what it is

0:43 is not the engine you specified. For 2024 GM dropped the mid size engine that was named TurboMax plus. The description you give here is for the Turbomax HO The window sticker just says Turbomax which is around 237hp. I just bought one on black Friday 2024. 02:25 my tailgate came with a tool storage area or can use for a beverage cooler as it also has a drain. Once the tailgate is locked you can't open the storage. 04:59 My sales person did not know what the area was on the left side of shifter. Mine is not a 4 x 4. This model has an advanced trailering package for 945 bucks, gee, mine has a trailering equipment package for 480 bucks. Betcha there isn't too much difference. The HO model can pull 7700 pounds. The Turbomax can only pull 3500 pounds 05:19 you can see the price of the engine. If it was the HO the price is about 3-400 bucks more. 2023 Models where the Turbomax Plus was used it was a 310 hp, the dealer upgrade to that model then made it an HO, costing around $350.00. I spent about 40 hours researching the 2024 Colorado WT. The LT models have more interior accessories which I didn't want any extra Bling. Note to senior citizen males: the steps on the rear, if your knees bother you, you can't use the steps. Middle and high school kids can probably use the steps as well as anyone not having knee issues. I'm a little bummed seeing that this model is a 4 x 4 for $37,190, mine was $34,775, if I got to the dealership 4 days before, there was an identical model that had an auto locking rearend ($325.00). Now have to make a 3rd trip to the dealership and ask questions about what's this and that under the hood. There is no radiator cap and I can't find a dip stick for the automatic 8 speed transmission. Inside on the driver's side is a big clear ball with reddish liquid which I think is coolant, following the piping shows that. All engines have electric power steering and an electric water pump and will continue to run after turning off the engine, probably on hot days where the A/C and towing will occur. Not on 39 degree days. The belt only powers the Alternator and the A/C Compressor. Programming the screen is a time consuming job but the owner's manual sure leaves out a bunch of need to know how to stuff. My model had the standard Convenience and the number 2 package. love the 8 position driver's seat with lumbar support. The speakers in the cab are extremely loud as I only got to 3/4 volume level. First new truck for me in 65, no 50 years. 2024 2025 ADD $30,000.00 to the sales price for the American TARIFFS. Glad I got mine when I did.

I would love to replace my 97 WT with a four door. But I seriously doubt the turbo four will be as durable and easy to maintain as my V6. Plus it seems a bit pricey for a WT. I could live without all the electronics. Nice review though. 👍🏻
