Corvettes have always been forgiving if you get stupid. And, even help you look good even if you can't handle it. Porsche on the other hand not at all. You'd better know how to drive a Porsche because it will let you look stupid and help you get there. I'll take the Corvette hands down all day long. Beautiful car.

Unfortunately it is supply and demand. He isn’t forcing you to buy it. Just showing you unique cool cars. Plenty of dealers would have markup on these cars. When people stop paying over MSRP it will stop.

On President’s Day weekend, I bought a new 2024 Ram truck (because rebates and discounts took $15k off the sticker). While waiting for the finance specialist to get his chance at trying to sell me crap I don’t want, the Dodge Performance Specialist was trying to shame my Porsche 911 because the Hellcats and Demons on his showroom floor have over 1,000 hp. Honestly, I’m genuinely impressed with those numbers and Dodge’s devotion to big, high output American muscle. But they just aren’t my style. The humble 911 suits me perfectly. When he started bragging that they sell these at $100k above the $150k sticker, I started wishing this conversation never happened. Yes the market drives all of it but it still seems like an excessive markup. At least I feel like I paid fair value for my truck- relative to the 2024 market and the Biden-devalued dollar.

@@mvp1116 that’s the thing….just got one. Order holder backed out. I didn’t have to wait 2 years on a list. Great spec with the carbon aero. $5k over and I was upset about that. The dealer markups are one thing but a KZbin “automotive journalist” who sells a car buying guide and promotes dealer scams by using their inventory and linking to their website should be called out.

Friend of mine factory ordered a z06 and it took one year to deliver. Markup over msrp seems justified. It’s supply and demand. It’s a very simple economics principle. The Market is dictated by the consumer, not the seller

This is the 5th video I’ve watched with a reviewer driving a Z06 corvette and every single video has only shown manual shifting. Why won’t any reviewers show how that glorious 8 speed sounds like shifting in auto? I think the engineering skills of those corvette engineers need to be respected and heard. I know it’s exciting to have the power to control the shifting but it will never sound as good as that tuned to perfection 8 speed - I just wish a reviewer would show us what that sounds like.

The owner of the shop where I had mine PPFed got his 2023 Amplify Orange Z06 for $141k about 2 months ago. I got my 2023 stingray 2LT Z51 convertible for $92k in August 2023 so the prices are not outrageous. At least in Maryland. The C8 is the beast value/bargain for an entry level super car.

I agree that at MSRP the car is definitely worth it. The problem is that the dealers are all trying to get rich off these cars. What they don't realize is buyers never forget. When times get tough again for car dealers as the we all know they will the consumer is not going to forget. Lets face it dealers are making a heck of a profit even at MSRP. If they weren't they wouldn't constantly be increasing the size of their respective dealerships. I did find an awesome dealer in Central Il. Leach Wilson Chevy. They are willing to sell the cars at MSRP. I advise any purchaser to call them and send the business their way. They are one of the class dealers out there.

The paddle shifters look so much more responsive than my C7 Corvette with a auto transmission. The delay on mine is almost a full second which tfakes the fun out of manual mode. I am officially jealous of the C8 Z06. I guess I need to work harder 🙂

Your C7 is an 8 speed Automatic, .. whereas the C8 is an 8 speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). It's basically a manual transmission that has the ability to shift automatically. Very different from the 8 Speed Auto you and I had in our C7's. Manual shifting the old C7 8 speed automatic was a total waste of time. 👍🏼

@@oneslackr I had a manual C7 3LZ/Z07/carbon fiber ground effects convertible with 3k miles on it. I should have kept it. That spec is as good as it gets in the C7 world. I replaced the throttle body with a ported/polished one, added short shifter. I had 2 or 3 other C7 Z06's manual/auto and I liked them all. Special car imo. I have had 3 C8's and I love them too, even more than the C7. My Z06 showed up today and I was happy but stressed because now I have to pay for it, lol. Otherwise good times.

Yeah, I drove just the regular C8 LT2 Convertible with the top down. It's phenomenal like on rails and crazy fast. Chevy really did an excellent job with the new Corvette and it's actually a real bargain when compared to anything else in its class with this level of performance and Fahrvergnügen (driving pleasure) will cost about 3x more.

I received my 2024 C8 LT2 convertible about 6 weeks ago and love it. All in,it cost me about $100k. For me,the extra $30k+ is not worth it. Mine will go 0-60 in 3 seconds with a top speed of about 190 mph...plenty good for me.

Sarcasm accepted. Most C8 owners don't daily drive their C8. This is usually a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th car. Not my a daily driver. It's my 4th car. Not really a winter car. Just to share, I changed to all season tires and drive mine regularly (live in the mid-Atlantic states). Does just fine. The Eray variant is all-wheel drive. Point taken and accepted.

I thought the same too until I test drove a C8. The dual clutch transmission (DCT) is has extremely quick shifts which became one of the selling points for me. I was partial to stick shifts but I evolved and the love the driving experience. And yes even the entry level stringray with 495hp is fast as I have consistently pulled 2.9 second 0-60 runs on warmed all season tires. Beep Beep!

ZO6 is pointless unless you want to take it to the track. You'll never get anywhere near the limits on the street ( and if you are THAT guy, I wish only the worst outcome) and it would be a pain to drive at 1/4 throttle all the time. I'd rather have a non-Z06-much more livable as a daily.

Wake up in the middle of the fast lane of interstate Interstate 80 and have a paramedic ask you " Big question. Can you move your arms and legs?" I said I couldn't feel by left leg. 2 back surgeries and a year and a half of therapy and I recovered. Live with migraines for years. The other guy got brain damage. The guys wife actually approached me about three years later and apologized and I refused the apology. She asked " What, would you be happier if he died?" I said...." I like him just as he is." How's that for karma? All...because that moron wanted to race someone.

Terrible review. First when you’re in a 150k car how about making sure the tire pressures are correct. And NEVER rev that engine when you first turn car on as you do. And car had no gas in tank. And you hit a mind bending 30mph and declare the best performance car. Lol. Come on Ben you can do better.
