Very nice setup! A follow up with this customer once they log some miles would be awesome. Things like how does the ride quality compare to stock or a regular lift, has the handling changed for the better or worse, tire wear etc. Not much real world info out there on these kits.

I put 800 miles on it so far, it rides pretty good for a lifted truck! Going up definitely changes the corners and turns, lol,I will update more on one of Bret’s next builds

@wyatt5770 I have not hooked up yet, looks like I will definitely have to adjust the stem up close to the 5 inches, but looks good otherwise, that’s next to a big Tex 25+5

Nice look. But why did GMC go black chrome on the truck and leave the polished wheels. Would look so much better in black chrome. I have a 2020 Gmc Denali and love it.

Stupid question I just bought my first 2500 ever looking at 4” coil over lift kit. How does this affect the ride quality?

Did the fox reservoir bracket come extended like that so there is no cutting of the fender liner? Also, did those reservoir clamps come with the kit or does it come with standard hose clamp style? Thanks

Having the bump stops not engaged. Would that cause any issues? Does seem strange to have the bump stop engaged constantly. Feels like you’d get a harsher ride with them slightly engaged all the time
@NothingButLifts Жыл бұрын
The bump stops just slow the movement down until they are fully compressed . Not being engaged isn’t an issue either. Most leveling kits and some 6” kits are setup that way
@ryangoyne3589 Жыл бұрын
That’s interesting that it’s supposed to be barely engaging the bump stop. I guess the longer travel only applies if the kit is set to max height? Seems like zero travel this way, 🤷🏻♂️
@NothingButLifts Жыл бұрын
Gm has designed the the bump stops to compress pretty easily. Even with the coilover adjusted up higher BDS wants shims installed on the control arms to keep the bump stops close to engaging. From the factory these trucks come with the control arm fully engaging the bump stop. There is still plenty of up travel and a ton of down travel.
@ryangoyne3589 Жыл бұрын
@@NothingButLifts that’s really interesting! It’s a beautiful rig, and the install with on board bags, air and train horns is mint!
@rodezell2563Ай бұрын
Why is it sitting on the bump stops?
@NothingButLiftsАй бұрын
@@rodezell2563 gm designs these to have the lower arm engage the stop at ride height. Most lift manufacturers maintain the same idea. This kit comes with shims that bolt to the lower arm. These are used to keep the arm and bump stop in close relationship as you adjust the coil-over height up.

@@NothingButLifts , thanks for the reply. That is weird to me. It seems like it would be a rough ride over any kind of bumps.

@@NothingButLifts that’s crazy. You would think they would have a few inches of up-travel before it gets into the bump.

Yes, most people with 2024 Denali’s aren’t beating on them Offroad. Occasionally we see them on hunting/farming land, with a key focus being on road performance. While they can be Offroad capable, most people are looking for a truck with the best ride quality and clearance for larger tires.
