@nathanwoten6236
@nathanwoten6236 6 ай бұрын
It's the vehicle manufacturer that sets the "rules" / guidelines and there told they can't modify the vehicles in any way and I guess changing the tire is considered modifying. I think they should get them a few sets of rims (find a wheel company like fuel or even Mikey Thompson because they have exelent tires with a wide variety from street & drag to AT/MT & non dot offroad tired and a good assortment of wheels) then they could take the wheel and tire off test the truck or what ever with a decent set of tires off road and then reinstall the OE tires when they return the truck. But I'm sure the manufacturer wouldn't like that for some reaso.
@nathanwoten6236
@nathanwoten6236 6 ай бұрын
I think first off they need a ARB portable air compressor (or any portable air compressor ARB single or twin portables are just the best ive used or seen by far) to take with them. Then they can actually air down to 12psi or 15psi or what ever they need to. Especially in this snow and sand it would be night and day diffrence in traction. Then with the compressor they can get back up to highway pressure in a reasonable time and be on there way with no issues.

One thing I’ve always noticed is that Andre is just not as capable driver as Nathan is😳……….andre tends to not keep and even foot on the throttle and not a constant pace and hammers is when stopped which hampers forward moment over objectives……..Nathan keeps a more consistent momentum pattern! But yeah tires and key bug I think even with them having both same vehicle and tires Andre even though I like him as far as knowledge of specs is simply not as good a driver! 😑🤷🏽‍♂️

This video shows the need for good tires, tire pressure, and driver mods. Most people overlook the fact that offroading is a game of physics, not opinions. If you have a locking diff in a balistically similar setup, the makes your truck more capable. But if you have better tires and tire pressure you're probably going to look better on a slick surface. Same reason I Teel tacoma guys they literally cannot hang with jeeps and I am not a jeep guy. It's physics.

@@tugarrmc I agree. If it get's bent, it get's bent. The test is the test, and what happens, happens. @@rsbreeze I don't know if inflation is included in your 50% figure, but if not the actual value loss can be striking. For instance, I paid $38k for my XLT F150 in 2018 and a new identically equipped one per Ford's configurator is $57k, which is 50% more in just 5 years time. Considering the F150 will run for 20 years, I'd say buying used is the way to go. Plus in CA your DMV registration will be less than half.

I can't wait to see the manufacturers suffer the bubble burst. Trucks used to be for the working class and hobbyist like campers and hunters and fisherman...now theyre for the upper class and rich or for those stupid enough to go into serious debt for a pickup truck. They can all F Off as far as I'm concerned - I wont be paying their ridiculous prices for their vehicles of lesser quality than they had in years past. And, before people comment that you can get cheaper editions of these trucks, I know that, but they are still all over-priced. They've increased like 20 to 50% in like 4 or 5 years and thats insane.

I understand they are nervous to damage an expensive truck but that shouldn't over ride the mission to get up and down the trail. This could have been done without all the drama and a steady foot would have proven to be a huge help. Everything is so dramatic instead of just being calm behind the wheel, it’s like a soap opera and it’s just not that serious. These are off road focused heavy duty trucks and did just fine. My point is that you don’t NEED the cameras and lockers. Most people that actually off-road (like myself) disable the traction control, don’t use the locker unless we are stuck, and don’t rely on cameras to show the terrain. Just amazing how nice these trucks are. I prefer the Ford when driving, have driven both. I think the ford has better visibility and I really like fords heads up display, it’s crisper and overall a little nicer layout. But… the GMC is less expensive.. I just priced out the AT4x. I can get one for $95,000. The Ford Platinum loaded Tremor is $103,000.

I have had 2 sets of e rated duratracs i normally run them at 65 to 70 psi but during the winter months I will run them at 40 and thats makes a huge difference without any noticeable wear or squat. I will air the rear tires up if i have to haul or pull something heavy

Hey roman & Nathan@tfl I say y'all may want to try the same thing again but put the GMC in front and have the Ford follow the reason is that the Ford is pretty much acting like a trail breaker and is much harder because it has to make a trail , all in all great video y'all need to get a hold of your tail hound and really have some fun!!!

Not aired down enough with those tires. E-rated tires are 65psi, but you should be running them at 18-20 psi in the snow.
