you gave the price a rating of "10" , I think it should be the other way and get a 1 or a 2, indicating it's a horrible price. A 10 would, to me, indicate a great price that everyone would be able to handle.
@BMWM3GT212 күн бұрын

so a cheap shitty bike gets a perfect 10?
@chrisvantassel88672 күн бұрын
If you breakdown the tech, titanium, tolerances, engineering, parts and pieces I am sure this bike should cost much more. It surely is a value thing with Ducati, they don't just overprice their bikes they truly cost a shit ton to make compared to others. If a person cannot afford one it does not mean it is over priced it just means it is too expensive for them. I can say I have owned everything and I have never been as satisfied with a bike or bikes like my Ducati's. I do own KTM, Harley, Beta, Yamaha, Honda etc......they just don't compare which is why they cost less.

OC crew: if I had unlimited funds, I go with the RS, with the Akra race pipe and tune that you can get through Ducati. Short of that, I'd go with the Pikes Peak for the same reasons you mentioned, mainly fear of the cost of a Desmo servicing.

It looks so good! If I had money to buy and own one for long time I wouldn't hesitate at all! Desmosedici Stradale engine that is used in Panigale and Streetfighter on a much comfier bike... dream!

The Pikes Peak makes more sense . This is my understanding . Desmodromic valves were designed to solve valve bounce as the spring material of the day , 1970's , was not the quality that is available to day . As much as I love the mechanical set up of the Desmodromic valve system . A spring valve set up has the advantage of longer service intervals , all the items you mentioned , plus in the real world I don't believe you could tell the difference . As I say this I have never ridden a V4 , but I have many years with V2 Ducat's that have had Desmodromic valve trains.

I would buy this bike and I DID buy this bike! You nailed it with the comment that his bike is made for two things - the track and touring. I fitted mine with the full Akrapovic race exhaust w/upmap - OMG - it sounds and performs amazing! It's insane how quick this bike is for what it is. I used to have a Multistrada V4 with the grand turismo engine. I don't care what anyone says - the RS is quicker and faster everywhere in the power band unless you have the RPMs way down low like 2-3 RPMS, but honestly, if you're going to be getting on it, who does that? You're going to be in higher RPMs. I'm in absolute love with this bike! My only constructive criticism is the factory seat. For the track it's fine. For longer rides, I ended up getting a heated Sargent seat. It's much more comfortable, but still easy to slide the buttcheeks from side to side in the twisties. Great video - I just wish you had a place where you could really open it up more! :D

To answer your question--- I just ordered a 2025 Pikes Peak. The RS is a great bike--but I couldn't do the desmo service interval. The cylinder deactivation under low load and rpm and the 36k valve inspect was what tipped it. Waiting patiently (not really) for April delivery.

I have a Pikes Peak and was considering one of these. I guess it comes down to how you will use it? The Pikes Peak has plenty of power so that would not sway me. They both handle equally well. The RS has Desmo valves increasing service costs along with a dry clutch. Personally, the power is the only real difference aside from aesthetics so it seems like more of a collector's move to get one of these over a Pikes Peak. I can pretty well guarantee that the PP will be a more reliable engine and better for long distance etc.

@@cmaz8547 PP is a better TOUR motor--especially factoring in 36,000 service. I'm already at 16,000 miles on my PP. If ultra fast is the goal--then go watch 650i video of the BMW M1000XR crush the PP and RS--for relatively cheap. But you can't carry side bags on the M. But what about of you transfer the S1000XR luggage set-u? 30 pounds lighter and 30 HP more at $5000-$10,000 less is hard to ignore. You have to third party tune all motors I have listed on all bikes or you are not getting all you paid for. The part throttle power restrictions for emissions/EPA is absurd. Add $800 and be amazed.

Fun review to watch knowing how much you loved the Pikes Peak. In terms of it's comparison to the BMW M1000XR, I wonder if a reason why magazines hasn't done the shootout is because they're not really in the same price bracket. Comparably spec'ed M1000XR (without carbon wheels) is $10k+ less than the V4 RS. Without carbon wheels it's like $8k less. I suppose for some bikes you buy it because you just want it and not because it's a better package or value when compared to others.
