Hi Tim, sorry I didn’t see this till now. It looks like your larger battery is either a group 27 or a group 31. The standard size ones are group 24 and they are the smallest. The box is probably designed to hold two of the number 24 ones. I run into this all the time when I’m working on boats with the trolling motor batteries. The only drawback on the number 24 is they don’t have the reserve capacity or cranking power of the larger ones. It’s very rare to find a large enough box to hold two of the number 27 side-by-side like that. The group 31 is slightly larger than the 27. It is the big dog. Lol and too heavy for this old boat mechanic to lug in and out anymore! 😂 Hope this helps! Crush it!

Some lithium batteries are self-heating. You can also buy lithium battery heaters or just a heating pad.

Tim I have the exact same trailer as you. A Flagstaff FKBS. I went with a 300AW Lithium battery. I had to add a new longer battery box and added it to the top of the rails. I can send you a picture.

Add another angle iron rail closer to the RV body, get a larger battery box, and install on the new back/old front rails.

Yes, it appears to be the only option. I will have to look into that. I just can’t pull my house down to the local welder though. 😎

@SarasotaTim You have other options: Call a mobile welder to do the work. See if any subscriber in the area has a 110v welder and can do the 15-minute job. If the tongue frame of the RV has the required width, drill and bolt the angle iron.

Careful, Lithium batteries charge different than Lead Acid and do not like a trickle charge

A bigger battery box, a bigger, single LiFePO4, or move the batteries are the only options I can think of. I don't know how much solar you have but you need ~400 watts for each 100 Ah of battery. I'll send you the calculations in email.

​@SarasotaTim if you haven't done so, you should also check your converter/charger for a switch to select between lead acid and lithium batteries. If you left it in the lead acid position, your lithium battery will never fully charge.

I think your battery box is for Group 24 size batteries. Two Group 24 batteries should fit. Battleborn batteries are not Group 24 but larger.
