Glad you’re finally driving one. We had a 2020 Escape 2.0T as a company vehicle for about a year. It was overall a decent suv, fuel efficient and comfortable. The 8 speed automatic was very unrefined and jerky in traffic, and the B&O subwoofer in the trunk would rattle. Looks like they’ve fixed those issues for the facelift which is nice.

The best thing about this car is the big sloping windshield adn seating position. It gives amazing visibility and makes the front area roomy. Also, side mirrors are pushed forward so you don't have to turn your head too much. Any other car feels like you are super close to the windshield and feels very compact. Engine is good and reliable, definitely underrated.

Have a 2020 Titanium, wife's car, and 2022 SEL my car. Nothing but good to say about both only exception is road noise. Previously had two Ford edges which is a great road car noise wise but not so great visibility wise. Edge has large pillars and so far away from from window have to half climb one dash to clean windows inside, I'm 6'1". Went to Escape better visibility, easier to park as I age. If they were just better insulated or whatever for road noise would be a happy camper.

Hey there, I noticed @ 14:40 you were using Apple Carplay to do a sound quality test for the speakers. Over time, I've noticed a decrease in sound quality whenever using both wireless carplay and wired carplay. I do not know what it's all about but I though i'd just let you know. Great review by the way, I love how you went in depth about everything I had questions about.

@ryanking6811
@ryanking6811 9 ай бұрын
My oldest sister, her husband, and their daughter are blue blood ford owners. They’ve had a couple good ones, but most of them have had major issues. Here is the latest example. Two years ago her husband bought a new F150 with the v8 and 10 speed. The transmission gave out with less than 10k miles, ford replaced it. Fast forward to earlier this year; he sold that truck to some guy privately. A week later the guy he sold it to called back pissed because the transmission failed on him. Man idk, I’ve only owned one ford and it was a 2012 escape v6, 2wd. It didn’t drive very nice and it wasn’t particularly comfortable for long trips. But since I’m not a ford guy and I bought it used, I did the bare minimum in maintaining that suv and the few issues that ever popped up, I just ignored and they went away (except for the brake line collapse, I had to replace that). Honestly for a car that I drove 150 miles a day five times a week for five years, it was pretty damn reliable all things considered. And even after that, I wouldn’t buy another ford again in my lifetime. I actually sold it this year and got a Chevy colorado back in February.

Those very early Foci and the last generation Escort shared the SOHC 2.0L SPI/CVH engine. It was notorious for that issue. It took my moms Escort out right at 101k miles. The 2.0L/2.3L Mazda engine that they used in some 03+ and all 05+ was bullet proof.

K@@CTjacob13 The last time I had a Ford was a 3 year lease of a 2017 Ford Fusion. That was actually a very nice vehicle. No problems in 3 years, but I suppose that doesn’t say much. However, it certainly lost its “feel” of being and riding like a new vehicle. My next 3 year lease was a KIA Seltos, and that felt and looked the same as the day I brought it home. Currently in a Hyundai Tucson and loving that!

@invictusf5790
@invictusf5790 4 ай бұрын
They absolutely do not. I'm sitting here day over day trying to compute what my budget can afford. If you want something with decent to above average leg room and cargo space that actually gets out of it's own way, this Escape is fine. If you want something larger with more leg and cargo room you roll with the Sportage, Tucson, or CRV. Even at that you'd need to buy the hybrids to have trims that actually move since the gas ones are god awful slow. I can see a case for the CX-5 not the CX-50. None of these cars with full tech packages are under $40,000. So if people have issues with this being $43000 then there's not much else people will be buying.

@@invictusf5790 There are definitely choices out there that could be worse. The refresh along with the ST Line package certainly makes it look quite decent. @@anthonykiedis1765 You can buy the basic 2024 Escape trim right at 29,000 currently, even the ST-Line which gives you many of the features in this car is slightly more at 30,500 you aren't nearing 40k unless you go for the top trim levels. I wouldn't drive any of the cars you listed either tbh lol.

43k for this Elite.. you can get a base Cadillac XT4 for 39k and at 43 you can have some decent options. What the hell is Ford thinking

The 2024 Platinum trim Escape which is the highest level trim before you get to the plug in hybrid, isn't even 40k at the moment, it is just under 37,000 so you are incorrect there.

Actually a really fun car to drive. But because ford service is near par to talking to 12 y.o. Petulant adults I must go with grown matured manufacturers.

So many people are buying expensive ass cars nowadays and have no idea they are being scammed. Get a used car and stop spending $700 plus a month on a damn lease!

I just had the .. unfortunate situation of having a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport as my rental vehicle for almost two full weeks. And my lord was that car an absolute hunk of crap! Just the overall feel of the car and the way it drove felt like a $15-20k car at best. The styling cues are 100% geared towards young adults and teenagers who would know nothing about what a good quality value car should feel like (ie Accords, Camry, etc). I don't see how Ford keeps getting away with these platforms lol... like genuinely who on earth is buying these low quality cars for these prices? Mind you the MSRP on my 21' Bronco Sport rental was a whopping like $31k...!
