I bought this vehicle last year! I abosoulty LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I have had zero issues so far and put almost 25000km on it in the year. I do a lot of highway driving and I have averaged 7.5L per 100 accourding the the onboard computer. Wireless carplay and android auto are built in and its fantastic to have wireless for both there is TONS of room! One of the best SUVs I have ever bought.

I just bought one 3 days ago. I tested to highland area of pretty steep and heavily curving (Puncak of Jakarta). It meets what I do expect. Able and easy to overrun other cars in climbing and curving area, even from still position. The other mechanic performance is coming close to what BMW X5 performs (I had new one in 2006). I also drive Toyota Fortuner, but Everest much outperforms. Conclusively, I am do satisfied with now Ford. Back in 2004, I have had Ranger and Everest bought from new. Congratulation Ford, you have changed to premium position.

Hi Matt, I got the bi-turbo trend in black 😀I don't have any issues with the gear selector as you mentioned .. works well for me.. cost was $78k when I drove out of showroom.. including tow pack, tinting and ceramic coating etc. overall very happy with the car .. technology is absolute best.. comfortable drive ... but slightly laggy as any other diesel engine .. people with lot of towing must go for V6... I think 4 cyl is good for the rest

Get the V6 Sport, never look back. It oddly misses a couple of features that it should have gotten from the Ranger Wildtrak, but also has a few features that the Wildtrak should have.. cooled seats being chief among them... But its damn smooth on the road since you get 4 corner coilovers, and a really nice amount of sound dampening

I own this vehicle and it is a great suv. The traction in mud with all terrain is awesome....better than the land rover i use to own. Ride is comfortable and all other suv dash boards look dated compare to this one. I am a little surprised he did not say anything about the huge sun roof. Overall, i have abused this car on and off road and drives the same as the first day. Would recommen this to anyone who needs a roomy, practical all terrain vehicle

I have watched so many of these reviews. I was very close to ordering the sport but realized Ford removed the hearted mirrors after it had been announced; a very handy to have on a frosty morning. @@colinboyd7779 well when they are cutting features citing the chip shortage from when the car was announced it doesn’t fill you with confidence. When you live in a frost prone area, heated mirrors is very useful when the mirrors are frozen. The fact the ‘car of the year’ (not a car) isn’t actually available and is an 11 month wait. The idea of paying $79000 drive away and not getting heated mirrors is enough to convince you otherwise.

Hi Matt yes I know I’m a year late with a comment. I recently bought a new 24.5 V6 Sport. I love the way my looks and drives. The V6 engine is fantastic and very much worth the extra $ over the just Ok BiTurbo. The things I don’t like are : 1. The uncomfortable and often hard ride provided by the 20” wheels. The Everest I originally test drove had 18’s, the salesmen knew I wanted a more comfortable compliant ride having come out of a next Gen Ranger but failed to tell me that 20’s would be very much Ranger like in ride and didn’t tell me I could have had the NCO of 18’s! which would have improved the ride somewhat. 2. Ford seems to have a habit of removing features from their vehicles during a model run and the 24.5 Everest is no exception. The kick sensor has gone from the rear door and the auto high beam dimming feature has now vanished in this model along with some badging. I’ve also believe that more features will go when the 25.25 comes out early 2025. The Ford Everest Sport V6 is still a great SUV but the negatives I have mentioned have put a downer on my purchase.

Mmmmm. You're concerned about Ford quality, but you're comfortable with a Prado engine that pops pistons and injector seals regularly and a DPF that resulted in a class action by disgruntled owners. Toyota owners have a belief system that is hard to understand by rational thinkers.

G'day Matt. I've just taken ownership of my Everest (Wednesday). I didn't go for the Trend either. I got the poverty pack! and it's black! Missus picked the colour after seeing them all at the dealership. A Ford where one of the standard colours isn't blue? WTF? Sport or a Ranger only, thank you very much. Anyhoo, after driving it in peak hour traffic (which I normally don't do) I'm hooked with the driver assists. Black! I can see my finger prints! Looks so cool but black sucks a bit.

Disclaimer: I am a FORD fan however my thoughts about the Everest are not biased towards the brand: Issues with Everest? I previously owned a MY2016 Everest Ambiente AWD 3.2L 5cyl 6-speed auto. The only major issue were the brakes, because i did major extended towing driving brakes pads and rotors were not durable, my understanding is that ford did change supplier but the brake rotors and pads are actually worse (since 2021), so keep that in mind as the vehicle kerb weight is 2,350kg (its a heavy thing). AD BLUE consumption was bad if you do extended highway towing, that said Ford did up the DEF tank from 18 to 21L, owners are claiming they get DEF warning at around the 8,000km range to top up that said Ford claim you should be able to do 15,000km per tank of DEF, who is right or wrong here? clearly Ford are wrong as real world results don't lie. Th E:Shifer is pure junk, typical Ford Motor Company stoge crap. My understanding is that Ford have approved a redesign of it, that said I fear it will be the worse option the rotary dial. Just one more bad thing before I get to the good, the transmission, tip: use the lockout method to make it a 7 speed transmission, the forward 6 gears are positive drive with 7th being the 1st over-drive, at 110km/h in 7th engine speed is 1,900rpm which is right in the middle of the peak torque curve (which is narrow to being with, 1,750 to 2,000) you will compromise some fuel economy if you do that however you won't have to put with a transmission that does not know what "over-drive gear" to be in at highway speeds, even in general day to day driving you reply on the gearing and to over-come the narrow torque curve.
@351tgv
@351tgv Жыл бұрын
The good? Design wise Ford Australia got it right, basically everything you see in the Everest would of been in the Territory save for the proper 4x4 running gear, and the Territory was pretty much spot on from day 1. I have driven the new Gen Everest and one of the best things ford did was retain the Falcon legendary rear suspension design, look at the Bronco for example, the American design crew went cheap with the cheap and less durable Panhard rod coil spring live axle, one only has to see the US Owners Forums to see how many broken rear suspensions the Bronco have from owners who have modded them whereas the Watts Link coil spring live axle design in Everest are basically bullet proof, you can thank years and years of that rear suspension being used on Falcon sedan. In fact even the US design crew for are now going to use it for the Bronco update. Is Everest worth what Ford are asking for it? no, that said its a great car once you learn how to optimise it for your needs.

All reports have the 10 speed auto as a 7 speed with 3 overdrives...
@351tgv
@351tgv Жыл бұрын
@@kylebutler7142 - guess ford/GM changed the gear ratios fro the 1st gen 10-speed. First 4.696:1 Second 2.985:1 Third 2.146:1 Fourth 1.769:1 Fifth 1.520:1 Sixth 1.275:1 Seventh 1.000:1 Eighth 0.854:1 Ninth 0.689:1 Tenth 0.636:1 Reverse 4.866:1 Ok then you can lock out 9th and 10th gear and run it as a 8-speed torque converter, final drive (re: diff ratio) is 3.31:1, that is fine to do, fuel economy wont be affected within cbd/metro/urban regions, motorway/freeway/highways there might be a little extra fuel consumption as the engine has to work harder but I would cop that on the chin to avoid the transmission "hunting" for the right gear as road speed goes up and down, that said with 500 or 600Nm (depending on engine) torque smack bang in the torque curve the tranmission really should not be going up and down like a yoyo trying to figure out what gear to be in.
@kylebutler7142
@kylebutler7142 Жыл бұрын
@@351tgv it's more speeds than most of the competition and it has to change more often to stay in the torque band...hunting is a negative word used by people who aren't engineers.
@351tgv
@351tgv Жыл бұрын
@@kylebutler7142 - last time I checked the torque curve of the 2L sequential turbo diesel is 1,750rpm to 2,000rpm (a very narrow range), which is why I said it would be better for owners of said vehicle to lock out the over-drive gears. the issue is the engine torque curve is crap, anyone who has done serious towing with the old 5cyl 3.2L with (manual or auto) then down the same towing with the 2L 10-speed knows the difference, the 2L has a cliff and then torque hole, gearing can only make up a little as the engine has to work harder to get to peak power which is also further up the rev range, the 2L engine is a joke, I mean it uses a lubricated glass belt for the timing gears and they need to be changed at great expense ever 1650,000km. the V6 is only just better. I agree its too much, there was nothing wrong with the 6-speed the previous gen 3.2L (and 2.2L) had once they upped the torque converter and clutches to 700Nm (up from 550Nm) spec which happened in 2015.

we dont get these in the UK. i wish we did. as i understand it, they take a Ranger and turn it from a pick up to an SUV which would be a perfect all rounder. most rangers here are (or were before they deliberately stopped making the popular models in manual) manuals so this with a manual would be epic, and all we seem to get are diesels, which is just fine, and far more practical in the real world than electric in the areas i need to go to often

Ford tech is superb. Nice to drive but the problem is reliability specially the transmission. It is not as reliable compare to Aisin of toyota.

I wonder what is the reason that you DID NOT mention the LDV D90 as an affordable alternative to the Everest? (don't answer it). I really don't care if people are brand-stupid these days or china-haters, but the D90 offers way more for your $$$. Also, being sat in an everest, it is flat out appaling that Ford thinks that for a sub-par quality interior (cheapest feel I have had in recent years( they can ask so much money. Just look at the fit and finish even in this video, look at the quality of the seats, stiches. Good luck to anyone buying one. You will certainly make uncle Ford happy, but after so many headaches during the last few decades, they won't see a cent of my hard earnt money...
