Yes. Because its missing a ton of the suspension components. The Bronco Raptor has beefier axles, they're also much wider (basically a Dana 60 vs a 44). It has much larger and wider control arms. It has more suspension travel because of this. It has beefier shocks 3.0 vs 2.5 inch bodies. And it runs a 37" tire versus a 33" tire here. In the end this means its far more capable off-road despite them having the same engine. The Bronco Raptor is literally the F-150 Raptor parts shoved under the Bronco. The Ranger Raptor is a great engine but with much more milder suspension changes.

Here’s the thing: I have utterly no need for a truck like the Ranger Raptor. The basic 2.3 liter Ranger would be an ideal truck for me, if I was in need of a truck. But I’m not. Having said that, if I had budget space and room in the barn for a Ranger Raptor I’d buy one, just for the pleasure of having one to drive once in a while. I don’t live near a desert, or in the mountains. But this truck is one of the last of “fun” vehicles I can buy. And sometimes a bit of IDGAF fun is just what I need in order to keep my happiness level calibrated. The Raptor is one of the few remaining vehicles I can fool around with, not unlike owning a Harley Davidson and being able to tinker with engine, suspension, paint and chrome, etc. We used to be able to enjoy all the vehicles we own, but more and more our hands are prohibited from doing anything interesting to our vehicles. So Ford has baked the shade-tree tinkering into the Raptor so a car/truck guy can at least enjoy owning it and occasionally using the power, brakes, and suspension. Even if that’s just a quick run to the store, or out of town or up north to deer camp. Good on ya, Ford.

That's an interesting take on things, being "able to" tinker with a Harley Davidson. More like being forced at gunpoint on the side of the road for the umpteenth time into tinkering with those always leaking from day 1 broken down pieces of excrement.
@Parker531518 ай бұрын
@@TheOne2Know Not exactly true. The HDs Ive owned have been dead reliable and have never left me stranded or broken down. And that includes several rides across the lower 48 and into Alaska and back. And they never leaked oil or coolant.

My AU Falcon sedan has basically the same suspension barring the live valve fox dampers, but front double wishbone IFS and rear live axle with watts link. Seriously though the Ranger Raptor Gen 1 (which were sequential turbo diesel) and now Gen 2 (what is in this video) are way better than the Bronco Raptor in LWB 4 door spec.

Rangers used to be a great cheap small truck, they ruined the model completely. Typical car industry to over design everything and inflate the price ridiculously. In another 5 years no one will be able to afford a new car/truck except only the rich or stupid people with mortgages for their cars.

The slower rock-crawly offroading looks like it's happening around 5-mile pass, Utah, near Rattlesnake Canyon trail. That would've been a fun one to take this truck up. If Jack's gonna keep ending up in Utah, he should hop in a sports-inspired car and hit some of our fabulous canyon roads, some of which are deserted and can function as personal racetracks.

The full-size trucks are now oversized, especially up front with hood a foot taller wrt the tires. As if they were made to have both a frunk and a W-24 hybrid engine. A normal-sized Ranger looks like a good option if suspension and drivetrain are not shortchanged.

Company sponsored PR event. Its all press there, meaning they have an audience. No way Ford will take the chance someone gets injured that day and, for the views and clicks of course, writes about the "dangerous new truck Ford's making that hurts its occupants." It's probably not even the guy's there whose idea it was, probably Legal required them to do it, or there insurer.
