With regards to the Ranger Raptor…I have a fully built Bronco, Bronco Raptor, 24 Tacoma TRD Offroad, and a Ranger Raptor. Every vehicle listed right there sits, and I drive the Ranger Raptor. It’s that good.

Shocks in seats is the dumbest option I’ve seen in a long time. Look at every single well setup race car and the do the exact opposite. A tuned suspension and a rigid seat gives you feel of the truck. The only reason you “need” suspension seats is to compensate for a poor suspension. I own both and while I may be hard on the Tacoma, it’s because I expected so much more from the release but we got what we got. Oh well

Traded in my 19 voodoo trd pro taco for a 24 ranger raptor. I had an allocation for the 24 trd pro but after it came I turned it down. Made in mexico, pannel gap for days, 4cyl over stressed with complicated hybrid nonsense, back seat no room for passengers or cargo under, the hood rattled like MAD, and drum roll........ 65k BEFORE tax, destination or dealer addons. My raptor? Got every optional extra except the blick heater, 61k. So I got a superior truck out the door almost less than the trd was MSRP.

What issue? Every single person I know that has had a Tocoma has never had a single major issue. I know 5 close friends that have had their Tocoma last over 250k miles and still got 8k plus when they sold it. They’re the reason I bought my 2012 last year with 125k miles and didn’t worry at all. 33s on the Raptor is by design, and the reason is very simple... The bigger the tyres, the less suspension travel you have. It's made to do jumps and go fast of road, so travel in suspension is more important because you don't need to lift the truck too much and making it top heavy. Ford engineering completely schooling the rest
@74weld3 ай бұрын
@@braamkotze473 Tire size has absolutely nothing to do with wheel travel. Travel is measured by taking into account shock stroke and motion ratio. You could run a 28” tire or a 50” tire. It won’t change your travel.
@braamkotze4733 ай бұрын
@@74weld wrong. Shock travel measures a shock’s movement through both compression and extension strokes. Every inch the tyre move, the shock move. So, taking exactly the same shock and spring setup with larger tyres, will equal less travel...

@braamkotze4733 ай бұрын
@@74weld you are clearly smarter than engineers and qualified technicians, so it seems like you know everything... Go put 50s on a Raptor without changing the suspension travel,and see how far you get. And please, give me the math that proves me wrong!
@74weld3 ай бұрын
@@braamkotze473 no need for the snarky reply, but since you went there let me give you some background that actually validates your sarcastic comment. When Ford wanted to start the Bronco Race program they contracted my company along with Geiser Bros and Triton Engineering to design the suspension…so ya, I guess you are right. Now, how do we measure wheel travel. Wheel travel is measured by taking a measurement from the ground to the center of the hub (this measurement tells you where the shock lives at ride height for piston placement and is used later) Then move it to full bump and take the same measurement (ground to center of hub) now droop it all the way out (ground to center of hub again) the ground is your constant. Now subtract full bump from full droop and you have travel numbers. Nowhere in there does anyone care what size tire you are running. Shit…when we cycle race cars to setup suspension we do it with the wheel off!

70-75k for a truck that’s going to last 20 plus years and still get you 5-6k when you sell it doesn’t seem like a bad deal at all. That comes to under 4K per year for a reliable truck that only needs routine oil changes. Yes I know which one I’d choose for sure.

I had a b**** of a time finding anybody that was willing to repair it ended up having to send it 200 km away I live on Vancouver Island so maybe that played into my choices. It then costing me $5,000 and a month to get done I will most likely never buy a Ford again and I'm quite happy with my Tacoma. Glad I was able to get a Gen 3 before the change. The four cylinders are well tested motor but I'm not interested in having a four cylinder mid size quite yet.
