I have a RR on order (no deposit, no dealer doc fees, no obligation to take delivery and NO MARKUP) that is schedule to be built in the beginning of November. I actually test drove one at another dealership as I was a bit nervous about the comfort level since i am a 6'3" normal built guy. To my surprise the RR was extremely comfortable and i had plenty of room everywhere. That being said I am still on the fence as to if I will actually take delivery. Big reason for that is i have a '23 F150 Raptor right now. I know why would I even consider trading that truck in. Well long story short...what was easily affordable almost 2 years ago is becoming more difficult. An i feel that the RR may fit my lifestyle a bit more as I live in generally urban/suburban area in New England. I have plenty to work with on trade value it's just a matter if its worth it to me to save ~$150/month on payment. We'll see i guess. Thanks for the video.
@TheNovakReport2 ай бұрын
You're going to save more than just the $150 a month per payment. I did some quick number crunching on gas savings for you and based on average fuel econ for your '23 F150 Raptor and the Ranger Raptor, if you drove about 20,000 miles a year, based on current average New England gas prices, you'd be saving about $500 on gas per year as well. The Ranger is easier to move around in also, and you'll enjoy parking in suburban power centres a lot more than you do now. Everyone is different, but if it were me, I'd be making the switch.

@@TheNovakReport Wow thanks for the thoughtful response. I fortunately only drive about 10-12K miles per year. But you can also put 87 octane (regular) gas in the RR where the 150 Raptor needs to have a minimum of 91 octane. That alone can be like $10-20 per fill up difference.
@TheNovakReport2 ай бұрын
@@AgentGeo another good point. If you watched my entire video you'll recall how I make an economic argument as to why I prefer the R.R. over other Raptor variants - and you just printed out another one!
@mabelpup8502Ай бұрын
@@AgentGeonever put anything less than 91 in a turbo engine..especially twin turbo..always use full synthetic as well. I don’t care that they say you can..if you want it to last, pay for 91/93..if you own a Raptor..gas price shouldn’t be your concern

Just got my new 2024 Ranger Raptor, same color as this video (Azure Grey) about 3 weeks ago. Loving it so far. Already getting snow in Alaska and putting it into "slippery" mode makes a big difference.

Another awesome video, Eric. Let me know if you’re going to do a video on the refreshed Nissan frontier P4X?
@TheNovakReport2 ай бұрын
Thanks Keith! I reviewed the new Frontier when it was released a couple years back, but haven't seen the refreshed version available yet for press bookings. I've already shot a review of the new Tacoma TRD Pro and that's 2nd in the queue, so stay tuned for that!

@@TheNovakReport as a Nissan guy I test drove the refresh model the other day I was quite impressed. Can’t wait to your next review. Congratulations Eric.

The only thing I dislike is the need of screen to operate the diff locks. But I'm probably getting one by 2026 if everything goes to plan.

A fair point as touchscreen menus and sub menus aren't ideal when off roading. But given the layout, I'm not sure where they would have put it.

Does it corner good?
@TheNovakReport2 ай бұрын
I didn't conduct any high impact cornering as there isn't that type of terrain around me. The turning radius isn't the greatest though, but I wouldn't want to offer a comment beyond that simply due to not having a chance to test performance cornering out.

Wasn't aware that the RR is available in Lavender.
@TheNovakReport2 ай бұрын
If you're referring to the exterior color, it's not lavender. This particular unit is painted in Azure Grey Metallic Tri-Coat.

Love everything about this truck but I question the long term reliability. Just not sure if a twin turbo, let alone a Ford twin turn will last long term.
@TheNovakReport2 ай бұрын
There's no hard evidence to suggest that the engine won't last long term. Time will tell.
@ironchung302 ай бұрын
@@TheNovakReport The proof is called common sense…more moving parts, more things that’ll likely go wrong. Yes, modern turbos have technology built in (like advanced cooling parts to prevent overheating). And yes, they will likely last longer than turbos in the past. However, you simply cannot make the argument that they will last longer or be as reliable than third gen and older with naturally aspirated motors. The reason to go to turbos was for emissions purposes period…not reliability.
@TheNovakReport2 ай бұрын
@@ironchung30 You aren't offering proof. You're offering an opinion, to which you are entitled to, but I will say again that there is no evidence that these engines are destined to be unreliable. And as an aside, if you're making your argument based in part on the number of moving parts, then then ultimate pivot and shift to reliability would be to switch to electric.

You have 32 and a half ,I mean 33 inch tires so it’s not going to be better than the other raptors

You can simply buy and install a set of spring perch collars and a Dremel to trim the inside of wheel arch flares and slap on a set of 35s.
@valensinclair67502 ай бұрын
It's a no brainer. It has basically the same performance as an F150 Raptor (not counting the Raptor R of course), is smaller, lighter, and costs $25,000 less. Why would anyone buy a full sized F150 Raptor over this? And the Braptor is both ugly and massively overpriced. I have a 2025 RRaptor on order, can't wait!
@Gofastsucka2 ай бұрын
They missed the mark with a small gas tank that only gives around 300 miles of range. The F150 Raptors have a 36 gallon fuel tank often getting me 580 miles
@TheNovakReport2 ай бұрын
North American automakers over time have coerced the general public to have an affinity for larger vehicles. It increases profit margins but from a host of practical, economic and just plain common sense perspectives - super sizing our rides makes little to no sense.
@TheNovakReport2 ай бұрын
I agree somewhat on the smaller tank size, but there is going to be engineering decisions involved in this more so than planning. I'm sure there are a host of reasons around vehicle size and capabilities that limited the size of fuel tank they could install, and while it's a bit of an annoyance, the trade offs aren't too cumbersome. Not enough I would think to dissuade most people who has a genuine interest in a R.R. to think twice.
