Ped, it’s bouncy because it’s expecting a “load” in the back, it’s a pick up and therefore set up to be accommodating/smoother with a load on.

23mpg is shocking, I'm averaging 40mpg in my X5 40d. I like the styling on it and the seats look nice but i think it would look better with a lift kit and 33 or 35" tyres. Each to their own though

I’ve got the vw Amarok version, of this. The Amarok has a much higher quality interior and seats and I think is more attractive on the outside too. The engine, drive train are identical. I’ve had it 12 months now and I don’t think there is a better vehicle for my needs, absolutely love it.

Pete, what about the four wheel drive? Is it full time 4WD, does it have locking diffs, is there switching between 2WD and 4WD, does it have low range transfer box? What about a trailer brake controller, tow hitch back up assist, trailer weight calculator, all these make a difference when choosing a working truck.

Come on Pete, a number of recent reviews have shown rear leg room to be appalling and you've either not mentioned it or been......very generous with your assessment. IN this it's shocking, even taking into consideration your considerable legs lol. I'd consider this far more utilitarian than a new Defender. That thing is far too "soft" imo for farming etc. This is far better and cheaper. As far as the ride goes, do a Jeremy and out a load of bricks in the back!

Extremely disappointing that it has the 3l diesel instead of the 3l petrol, why? All the extra maintenance / running complexity of a modern diesel when you could have a more powerful petrol engine. It just doesn’t make sense to me in this application.

Great idea but it's a truck designed for the trade, so why dress it up like a fancy Range Rover that never sees any mud, there just a status symble and then there the price and the economy which is pants in my opinion, but if you have the money and you feel you need to keep up with the buckets then haho, but great video love what you do 👌👍

What a grotesque vehicle. Pick ups were once fairly compact uncomplicated things. Take an old hilux or b200 for example. They have now become tasteless americanised oversized vehicles for people with fragile egos and carry no more load than they did in the 90's. The problem now is from April 2025 they will be treated as company cars and not commercial vehicles which is a kick in the guts for farmers and builders who actually need them for their intended purpose.

A farmer doesn’t need the five seats which the high court judge found not to be aligned with a goods vehicle. She said that a goods vehicle will be built to deal with goods. You can blame Coca Cola for pursuing through to high court level. Cars ordered before April and delivered before October will be on old rules.

Had a new 2 litre ranger for a year now and I love it. 33mpg, great on the motorways and eats potholes. Very practical with a roller shutter and find it easy to park. Can’t believe how much I enjoy this vehicle.

They’ve reduced its off road capability to make it more a road car but still the handling is choppy. Yes it can carry weight and tow and maybe that’ll be where it’s at its best? Though that has to be a small market.

Nice to see an Aussie invention (Utility Truck - pickup) in the UK. The Rangers are very good, but I still prefer the new VW Amarok, better spec, same truck. It needs some semi-off road tyres, or is this just for British small town ships? It's a bit confused, imo. PS, 2 bags of cement in the back helps settle it, 🙂

Had a new 2 litre ranger, I loved it until it broke down…. Put 100,000km on it all motorway driving and the gearbox failed. There was 5 other Rangers in with gearbox issues in my local ford garage, one with only 14,000km.

The trouble with the Ford Ranger is Fords decision to restrict what engines you can have with which version. For example if you like the wildtrak x Ford will not let you select the engine option you have in the Ms Rt version. This is a problem with all car companies these days their drive to cut costs means restricting customers choice and options including exterior paint etc

Ive never been sure of trucks. This one seems alright but the size,mpg has always put me off. Especially on our tiny roads and high fuel prices. Out in the states they make sense. More space very cheap fuel hence why its popular and they swear by them. Maybe if you carry alot or a farmer get on. Otherwise im not sure.

Love the video. Know all those roads. Some of my favourite routes round Goodwood and West Dean/Singleton. I love my truck too. Yep, it’s 2002 and 4.7 petrol and worth only £8k on a good day, but getting 18mpg against 23mpg and £60K makes me feel better. Even if it does need welding quite a bit. American quality at its best. 😜 Yee hah, bless my Mopar! 🤠

Wow nice looking but £61,000 inc VAT. Even at £51,000 they are not on my business vehicle radar because of bad rear leg room. Who buys a dual cab that only children can fit in the rear. Tax is a joke letting these dodge higher taxes. Fuel economy not great compared to my current diesel van getting 50 mpg. Nice truck but pointless for normal people but ideal for rich mum's to drop Rupert off at school. Most will never go off road.

Had a ranger a few years ago for a while from work. As a family with 3 kids it was hopeless. Once you get the kids in the shopping hours in the 'boot' . Most of these are used under the commercial vehicle tax fiddle.

"Need"? I WANT a twuck. A raised but lowered gruff diesel that's smooth with a tray that takes a Euro pallet, but enclose in, and it takes bikes, but put them on a bike rack. It has a rugged interior, but with nice materials you don't want to get dirty. And I don't want to pay for it. So a welfare state show pony? Yes please.
