2024 Ford Ranger XLT - Is this the best value in the Ranger lineup?

Ranger is offered in 4 trims currently, XL, XLT, Lariat and Raptor. The 2024 Ranger Raptor is pretty far out of many people's price range but the XLT with FX4 package offers a lot of function for a lower price.

I bought a 2019 Ranger. I love the 2.3 I have not had a single problem with it in almost 5 years.

The factory spray-in bed liner will no longer cause delays with orders. Ford updated dealers back in April that they have the capacity for the bedliners and that it won’t delay delivery. If your dealer says otherwise, ask them to check FMCDealer for updates.

In Kingsport TN at fairway Ford dealer they currently have a f150 raptor on their lot in that blueish gray color. It ooks amazing.

I just have a hard time with costs nowadays. I had a brand new 2014 gmc Denali with the 6.2 , TV, 22 inch factory wheels and heated and cooled seats for 52,000$. That’s only 5,000 more and it’s a full size. I have a hard time with the midesize and full size costs.

Well.. it may have been $52k in 2014... but in 2023 that would be $67,000 adjusted for inflation.

I ordered the truck today black on black XLT FX4 but I did not buy the xlt high package or the high package for tech and trailer. I bought the regular tow package for $495. I also went with the rear steps in bumper and spray in bed liner,Mine was $43k out the door

Absolutely love it. Will be class leading no doubt. Ranger is legendary! Will be ordering a '24 Ranger XLT FX4 after holidays. Gen2- 2.3L is proven, excellent & enough for me. I think Ford has had the boldest colors actually lately. Like Grey alot.. not the $995 Grey. Lol

I agree. Azure Gray 4x4, XLT with FX4. Gonna have to see what the 24 Tacoma TRD Off Road looks like though. My 22 Badlands may have to be sold or traded 😮

these prices are a steal of a deal - Canada Raptor starts at $80 000. My, on the way - carbonized grey, fully loaded XLT is $55 000.

Fifty years ago trucks had rubber lined floors and you paid extra for carpeted mats. Now they’re covered in carpet and you pay for rubber liners. Progress? That is a great color but not sure it’s worth a grand. The red upgrade, maybe?

My number one complaint with the new Ford ranger is the ugly goatee looking front end. It’s disappointing that they did not keep it clean with a tentative separation between the front bumper and the front grill like the new ranger raptor.

I agree, I would get the Azure gray. I currently have Cyber-Orange on my Black Diamond and might trade it in for a badlands non sasquatch. If I order the badlands, I plan on getting it on Bronco.

I'd prefer the xlt version. I'm just not liking Fords decision on their overall design of the Ranger truck when you have awesome midsize trucks like the canyon at4 and Colorado Trail boss and the zr2 that look bad ass with the body lines and vehicle contours.

The 2.3 is behind the drivers side tire, so that means after 5 oil changes you will need new lug nuts.

Yes. Xlt best value. But it's only the best value mid-size truck with that upcoming 2.7l v6 twin turbo

Totally agree. I’ve had five F150s in our company Fleet with the 10 speed transmission, 2 Wheel drive with lockers and those trucks have been awesome. And I imagine the miles per gallon mpg will be one or 2 miles per gallon. Mpg better. I think we will be switching our fleet over to these trucks because they will fit in our employees garage us versus having to sit out on their driveways at night. The adaptive cruise control in those trucks is awesome as well and the front parking sensors is so nice to have when pulling up to the concrete poles at Home Depot for contractors we can get right up next to it.

You’re not “getting” all these things in the XLT. The baseline price is $3k higher than the 2023. So all those added features come with a higher price.

Looks like ford went away the the s cab. You can only get it in a crew Cabe. So, no more 6ft beds. That sucks . If you go camping you can't sleep in the back if you have a camper shell.

Even more sad is that you can get a pimped out Lariat with leather trim and the B&O sound system for just about $3k more... depending on how the B&O sounds, it might be the better deal.

$50K for a Ranger? Anyone who spends that on a pos Ranger is ignorant. Bring back regular cab shortbed 4x4 for $25k and take my money. Nissan now the benchmark. Only ext cab with doors that open, only V6 also. You can get a nicely equipped Frontier king cab 4x4 for around $32K.

The 2010 and 2011 Ford ranger were awesome. Those trucks could be loaded down day in and day out. I’d buy a small fleet of them for my roofing repair guys if they were available today or updated with all the new technology for safety call. The mpg imagine would be in the mid to high 20s with this 2.3 L 10 speed transmission combo.
