My only complaint. And seriously the only huge problem in my eyes. The global ranger has rear ac vents. I figured they’d carry it over and never doubted they wouldn’t. And they didn’t. Why? Fleets, kids, adults, dogs all can benefit from rear ac vents, and they just give us a little cubby hole. That was the last thing I thought they’d remove from the global ranger for us.

It's so strange that the American version does not have rear but the southeast Asia version does and probably the Australian because it's manufactured in Thailand. For all the things that the US version has that the Southeast Asian version does not is another amazing thing.

I own a 2021 Ranger Lariat FX4. If I had to buy a new truck today I don't think a Ranger would be in the running. The lariats are just to expensive and the XLT while normally would interest me without the push button start crosses it off the list. They increased the price of the Lariats to much, maybe across the lineup. I won't own an offroad vehicle anymore that requires a normal key anymore. The clattering of the keys when offroad is to annoying to deal with today. I know it may sound stupid to a lot of people but that's just my opinion. I'd also want the 2.7 in it which isn't avalable right now.

I liked the XLT until I saw it needed a key and didn't have ANY grab handles for rear passengers. Also, it appears you can't get rear vents in any trim. These are omissions that a supposedly "NEW" design vehicle should have as standard.

I like the new interior but was hoping for rear AC vents. Wanted front metal bumper and LED headlights on XLT but can do those aftermarket. Will come down to price for me on if I buy this new one or last gen.

Hey remember that con I had about them not including a Wildtrak in the lineup, well I’ve just realized you could technically have the Wildtrak if you ordered the truck in these specifications Get the Lariat (that has the Wildtrak features) Get the FX4 package (that has the Wildtrak off road tires and capabilities) Get the 2.7 V6 Get a sports bar accessory And you pretty much have an NA Ranger Wildtrak without it officially being called a Wildtrak

I think the lack of ac vents in the back is annoying because these trucks are large enough finally to be passable for a family of 4 plus the cost of these trucks have grown so much and these trucks I think will need to be more than off road recreational vehicles. Think it’s silly they didn’t include the ac vents in the back.

It's so funny what they included and what they did it include compared to Ford rangers in other countries. I know in Southeast Asia we have rear air vents in every trim level but the e shifter w/ park assist didn't make it into the top version wildtrak this year but it did make it into their new top of the ranger lineup, StormTrack and of course, the ranger raptor. None of the rangers get all-terrain tires at tires. All street tires except for the raptor. No skid plates on any model. Interesting comparisons. Here the top spec ranger has only the 2.0 liter bi turbo diesel w/ the 10 speed automatic.

The Ranger is up there among Australia’s best selling vehicles so it makes sense to have so many trims, unlike here where mid-size trucks are a bit of an afterthought (though the segment may be picking up?)…not to mention you can also get the Ranger as a cab/chassis with an aluminium tray in a couple of the trims instead of just the ‘pick-up’ style (as Ford Aus calls it) that we get I’m more gutted we don’t get the awesome 3.0L V6 diesel Australia gets. That would make for a brilliant truck!

Sadly, it is not in any XLT configuration. It is ONLY available on the Lariat. I wish it had, but I can live with it for all the other great options you get with the high tech pakage and cost savings.

I have another question are the LED performance headlamps the same as the Matrix LED headlamps from overseas. Pretty much a year ago I kept hearing article after article that Matrix Headlights would finally be legal in the US and they are coming and yet I haven’t seen a single new video without them. So either we’re now getting them in this truck or those articles are a bunch of BS

Nice compact review. You guys did point out some things that other reviewers have missed. I really like the new ranger but I have a few gripes that are making me consider going for a gmc/chevy canyon/colorado... 1) storage under the seat SUCKs, wouldn've been nicer if it was flat with a removable divider, 2) that push start should be standard through out whole range, and 3) no Auto 4H?!?! as someone who lives in the snow I don't wanna be switching between 4h and 2h all the time, huge mistake by ford. I don't understand why only the raptor has it.

Not at this time. The 2.7L is a late availability. Before the strike the plan would have been to get 2.3L trucks rolling and by Dec the 2.7 but I’m not sure of the current timeline

The only "grey like color" for 2024 is cactus grey. I went with that at first, but when I saw in person, there is a minty green tint in certain light condidtions that for me, just is not my style. Some people argue it it straight grey, it is not. There is a reason it is named CACTUS grey. I changed my color order to Iconic Silver Metalic with chrome package. The silver also really brings out the sharp new lines of the truck. The cactus subdues them. See the cactus grey IN PERSON before you decide. The iconic silver really looks sharp!

Not enough car reviews show the back seats lifted up. People that have pets would prefer flat load floors. Works good for boxes too. You didn't show enough of the back. However, I did pause the video and it looks like the floors aren't flat due to some stupid storage under the seat. I have only seen flat floors in the Ridgeline, F150's, and some Rams. Too bad. Deal breaker..

So as of right now - a completely redesigned vehicle for model year 2024 in the PREMIUM/LUXURY trim level - we are missing: 1. Ventilated seats 2. Moon roof 3. HUD 4. REAR FRIGGIN' VENTS 5. Grab handles Come on Ford. It is borderline embarrassing to half-ass a reveal this much.

The Ranger's competition at similar price points have all those things (except HUD, not sure about that). When you introduce a new generation, the idea is to look forward into the future of the build, not just match a mediocre status quo of features off the cuff.

But yeah I’m still really disappointed that there’s no rear AC on the Lariat and Raptor trims (which is included in your Wildtrak, Wildtrak X, Platinum, and Raptor). The black trim and all the plastic on exterior (especially the bumpers) is embarrassing to see on what is supposed to be a truck, especially if the truck is Lariat level. Think about it, prices have always been higher for additional chrome models, but here you pay extra for a chrome model and on top of that more for the black trim (and plastic bumpers). Kinda foolish of people to do that. You're getting base truck appearance, but paying more than the price of the '23 Lariat with chrome steel bumpers! Even the fuel econ of the 2.3L isn't acceptable for highway, it should be 30. An Explorer gets near that kind of mileage on highway, and my '20 Edge definitely does better than 30 on highway.

I thought the same way until I ended up with a ford ecosport that has the push start. Its grown on me. Never have to take the keys out of your pockets and coming up the vehicle you just touch the handles and it unlocks. My F250 and wifes ecosport have keys and when I drive those I do notice it being a hassle to grab for the key fob to unlock the doors and such. My main gripe with it is when I am at the car wash and walking around it the vehicle notices I am close and blinks the turn signals.
