The Foton Thunder Outback is the more off-road-oriented version of the Thunder 4x4. It gets a front suspension lift, bigger all terrain tires, black rhino wheels, a nudge bar and a steel roll bar. Despite all these upgrades, it's still one of the most affordable 4x4 automatic pick ups that you can buy at its price of P1,498,000
Want an even bigger pick up? Check out the Foton Tunland. Full video here: • 2024 Foton Tunland V9 ...

I don't see any Ranger design cues here though. It's more like a Hilux front, Navara azzz and a Mazda interior. That's not to say it's bad, it's actually quite a good combo and the quality overall is actually pretty good. And that's also considering the fact that this thing is technically "Made in the Philippines" whereas its competition isn't.

@@dickmelsonlupot7697that bigass foton badge in the grille is straight from the f150/ranger raptors. Thats pretty hard to miss tbh.

@@fullbass1426 let's be fair here, the Ranger Raptor is not the only one with that type of grill. In fact, Dodge's RAM had theirs earlier than Ford specifically on the RAM 1500. And I don't agree that they copied it from Ford. I'm more willing to bet they copied it from Toyota as well. Specifically the Toyota Tacoma, go look it up. The grill shape is exactly the same, just upside down. There are even aftermarket Tacoma grilles with large fonts as well.

@@dickmelsonlupot7697 i never said the raptors are the only one with that grille. But I bet, if you ask the designer where the bold grille logo is inspired, its probably from ford. Yes RAM did it too, but not as bold as the one from ford raptors. Now with the shape of the grille itself, thats another story like you said. And lets be honest, its not only this time that they copied other companies’ designs. Just look at the new Mars 7 and 9 trucks. Very american.

it's a Chinese brand but have long since branched out of China that it's not on a scale of being "just a Chinese brand" since it has major R&D branches in India, Japan, Germany, Taiwan and also the Philippines. It's one of the few Chinese brands that Indians actually like and respect. And believe it or not, this is actually made in the Philippines since it's assembled in Clark, Pampanga

In terms of rugged performance, there are only two pickups that is capable of....the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu Dmax....the others are just more on aesthetics.

not really. The Strada/Triton is still leagues better than the Hilux. It has years of Dakar experience behind it. And the Hilux has become extremely outdated and the fact that its rear is still "matagtag" makes it a huge sin if you really ask me. And don't get me started with the whole GR-S bullshhttt where Toyota (especially Toyota PH) just plasters them on their vehicles and then charges the price of your soul just to get it which is sad, ironic and funny since they're all just aesthetic upgrades. Hell, even the "new" Hilux GR-S is just a laughable joke and a clear attempt at Toyota to cash in or dummbbb Toyotards who get hyped up at their products and are too blind and sttuppiiiddd to realize that they are being conned by Toyota. Like seriously, it's just stickers and other aesthetic upgrades. The only "mechanical" changes are just a different suspension (which you can get cheaper and better alternatives from the aftermarket scene) and just the old 2.8L engine but tweaked to supposedly make "more" HP and torque which you can just do with a simply remap and some upgraded parts like a new turbo which would still be much cheaper and far better than what they put in the Hilux GR-S. I'd really much rather get this than a Hilux. The D-max has, ironically enough, also went the "aesthetic" route as well and have recently been bashed for not really good performance off-road and the fact that it lost touch of what it was supposed to be i.e. being the "cheaper" but somewhat better option of the Hilux. It's become overpriced and not really worth it now. In fact, the BT-50 which is the Mazda clone of the D-max is a far better option than the stock D-max. The Ranger is just pure "papogi" looks. But at least the Ranger Raptor version does things differently and far better than the Hilux. Even if the 2.0L Ecoboost is now common, the Ranger Raptor was the one that introduced it and that in itself is something worth praise. As for the Strada/Triton, it's still pretty good. It's a mid truck with mid performance but still pretty damned good, rugged and incredibly reliable plus it doesn't suffer the same shhttt ride as the Hilux.

@@dickmelsonlupot7697 not talking about the comfort, rallies and as you said shhhtt things about the Triton, I'm talking about the toughness of engine and load capability, suspensions are "matagtag" since they are built to withstand heavy loads. Tritons are same as Rangers, mid performance only not full performance as Hilux and Dmax 😊😊😊
@dickmelsonlupot7697
@dickmelsonlupot7697 2 ай бұрын
@@corolla9545 Hilux is not full performance as well. Go to Australia where off-roading is in their blood and you'll see that the Ranger actually outsells the Hilux. Not many Australians use Hiluxes anymore and those that do have them heavily modified. And no, the matagtag issue isn't because of heavy loads. It's just that they have bad rear suspensions and Toyota is too cheap to replace them properly. Even the Navara with it's weaker suspension can carry just as much weight as the Hilux. And if we're looking at numbers, the Ranger actually has more loading capacity than the Hilux and the Ranger has a better ride. In fact, they're basically all the same in terms of payload capacity (even the Foton Thunder) so your argument doesn't really stand there and has no proper basis at all. And don't be sleeping on Mitsubishi's 2.4L, that thing will surprise you. I know, since we have a Monterosport. As for the D-max, it's the old one that people like and not the newer one which is just paporma like the others. It's literally no different from the old one and is basically just the same vehicle with a newer face. If we're being very technical and realistic here, all of them have great engines and are pretty rugged, practical and reliable. With the Ranger engine being the least reliable and the Hilux & D-max engines being the oldest and most outdated.

Who is the sound engineer? Music too loud, but the video is ‘not’. I’m supposed to watch the review and NOT to be annoyed by loud rock music. This is a poor transition of the music and presenter s audio. It is better to have no musics at all.
