Even if you do not want a Chinese car, it is essential that we as consumers have them in the market. The established legacy car brands seriously need to be shaken up as they have been price gouging us for far too long. If it takes a brace of new competitors for the Germans and Japanese to up their service levels, warranties, value proposition, and revise their pricing to current realities, then so be it. Without new competition, the legacy auto makers will do what they have been doing for decades - fleecing us local car buyers !
@weetbix2083Ай бұрын
Competition is great! This is especially true in that imports carry 30%+ import duty to protect local car manufacturers. All this has done is make them lazy. If you cant compete without special favours, you shouldnt be in business.
@MrRyuken555Ай бұрын
The problem is that as soon a new brand becomes established, for example Hyundai and Kia they then increase their prices and soon are similarly priced to the Germans and Japanese brands.
@waltherdorn-schnirring6824Ай бұрын
Agree with your comment. Me personally will not support a Chinese product, China is not our friend, and make use of cheap child/slave labour.
@58MikeRed29 күн бұрын
You do realise that the Chinese Government is price subsidizing their manufacturers, right? There is a big "gedoente" about that at the moment, with a number of European governments wanting to place additional import taxes on Chinese vehicles in order to keep their local manufacturers price competitive.
@weetbix208329 күн бұрын
@@58MikeRed Also the Chinese have every industry on their doorstep to build cheap and they dont subsidise DEI and woke ideologies. The West seems comited to self destruct.

Hi Juliet will you be driving the new Suzuki Swift? Thanks
@58MikeRed29 күн бұрын
Hi JUliet, love your vids. That looks like a great vehicle - particularly for a Chinese vehicle, ndd it lacks the video game soundtrack! Off topic for a moment - as you often do - for one of MY pet hates. Why do vehicle manufacturers insist in quoting cargo bay area in litres?? I am am buying a water tanker, for example, sure I want to know how many litres I can transport. Not so much with a vehicle designed tro transport people and their "stuff". I want to know the dimensions - l x b of floorspace, then tell me the height to which I can load stuff (if practical). I hate this "litres" nonsense! Case in point - that Emzoom is (in litres) around 20 litres more than my current vehicle - but the "floor space" of the boot area is actually smaller than my current vehicle. So, clearly, something that does not fit in my current vehicle will not fit in there either , while even some items that do, wont, if you get my drift. We do not always want to load a lot of small packages and pile them up until fully loaded - unless buying that for courier deliveries, but I think not! Before anyone asks .... no! The dimensions are not readily available online. The manufacturers - all of them - are lying to us with their fuel consumption claims - yet these are "approved by xyz standards authority"? How does that work - a bit like "diesel gate" with emissions figures, or5 simply authorised marketing fairytales? Okay, I am an "old man" (and clearly grumpy) but I remember "back in the day" when motoring publications like Car Magazine used to connect their own test rig to tested vehicles and publish a real world consumption figure. There is also the "old fashioned way" of starting with a full tank and a zeroed trip meter, driving a hundred plus km route, topping up the tank and doing the simple math! Nobody does that any more. We get "we saw a figure of x l/100km on the display" as our best - but that is at a specific point in time and meaningless. Anyhow, enough griping - that vehicle looks very nice, and I really do enjoy watching your reviews. Keep up the good work.
