I got my Canyon At4 in the Desert sand metallic about a month ago and man it's one of the nicest midsize trucks you can get I've been eyeing midsize trucks for a while now and nothing was as nice and good looking like the Canyon and Colorado. I come from boosted cars I've owned a Civic si and a 240sx and man this Canyon has everything i would want in a truck! power, looks, comfortability. Its a Neck Breaker i seen so many people just stare I've actually had two encounters with people on the Freeway that made me roll my window down to tell me how nice of a truck it It is, i have got so many thumps up driving around town and to work. I say if you're looking for a Canyon it's amazing the interior was what sold me too super beautiful. I say get one if you're looking for a midsize truck you won't regret it.

You will love it. I have a 2023 and after a year of ownership and zero problems with mine, I still look forward to driving it to work everyday. I have the Elevation trim with the convenience pkg, preferred pkg, towing pkg, factory sprayed,bed liner and also ordered it with the step rails. I didn't need 4wd but being a GMC, it still came with the off road suspension and all terrain tires. It's a great handling and quietly comfortable ride that gets alot of complements.

Doesn't hold any lighting memory. I like driving with the fog lights, but you have to turn them on through the info/radio with multiple steps. Everything works through the center screen with 2 to 5 pushes to do the simplest of things... another downer. It has NO PULLING POWER!!! Plenty of engine but no weight to put it to use. Hooked onto my 28 ft boat to move it around the yard and I couldn't break it loose with the truck on pavement any the boat in the grass. All 4 tire just squalled and spun the truck in slow arcs. My friends Nissan Armada pulled it without any problems. Pulling stuck ppl at the beach is the same... All wheel spin & going nowhere, kinda embarrassing. Gonna try and keep my milage under 10k and trade in in on the new 2025 Ramcharger. Also, the economy is atrocious for this size truck! Only 13-15 intown and 19-22 on the hwy. if I stay out of the turbo. With the turbo I can see single digits on EPA. Sorry about the late response, but I wanted to get a feel for the truck before responding. Hope you didn't buy it.

@stevengibson2251 jeeshh, how much does your boat and trailer weigh? There is no way I would pull any 28 ft boat with a mid sized truck, period. That's a job for a 1500 or above to do. As far as lights go, I just keep mine on automatic mode and I have only needed fog lights 2 times in 15 months. I always use the info screen before I leave my driveway, and if there is fog in my area, then I turn them on and it doesn't take but a few seconds. I average about 18 mpg combined mileage with my 2023 Canyon. It's not great, but I can live with it. After all, I am not very hard to please unlike some people. You say this truck doesn't have much weight and that it impedes its towing ability, wow, never heard that complaint before. I thought these trucks were a bit on the heavy side since they start at 4400 lbs and a Sierra 1500 starts at 4500 lbs and both trucks weigh more as you go up to more premium trim levels, ect.

@@johnwhitneykokalis9990 Boat weighs 12,158. Don't know how much the trailer weighs, It's on a 35' Aluminum Triple Axel. Dad's Toyota towed it from Florida to Texas without any problems. It's too much for the Canyon but a Nissan Armada (nearly identical in size) moves it around the yard very easy.

Hey GMC. The Canyon styling is a home run. Lose the reflectors on the fenders. Bring back the manual headlight switch, and get rid of the white in the interior! How about some carbon fiber? It would be cool if you offered a V6, and a 3.0 diesel. And definitely get rid of the plastic oil pan! How about losing the hood rod? I am in the market for a truck, and test drove the AT4X this weekend. If the little 2.7 L Turbo is as good as you say, how about a better warrantee? Then I would consider buying one.

It took me 5 months for mine to get allocated, hopefully it’s not that long for you. They were having some issues for a while, I think they are getting better. I couldn’t get mine in February when I was supposed to get it allocated because of leather seats. But it has finally been allocated and they are building it now!

I think GMC has a winner here with this truck if has solid quality then it really should put a pause to any Toyota buyers because as this is equipped it is way nicer and more affordable. I'm a Ford fan but I might have to go take one of these for a test drive. Excellent review, you covered just about everything. I am surprised they gave you a nice alloy for a spare too... maybe they didn't have steelies.

The new Tacomas did this too. Why are you putting hard plastic where most people put their elbow on top of the door while they're driving? Can you give the nice soft touch material to the dashboard the place I touched the least. Also I'm 52 years old I've never rolled all of my windows down at one time in my life why would I need a button dedicated just to that? Last there's got to be a good way to bypass the auto start-stop right? I don't want to have to throw that switch every time I start the car.

Very nice truck, and I am looking at trading my GMC Full size Denali Carbon Pro pickup with a 6.2 Gas. But my biggest question is, why is my truck getting damn close to the same gas millage as this 2.7 turbo? Does not add up, especially this day and age and the technology out there. This truck should be making my truck look bad in the fuel mileage dept.

Trucks just have poor aerodynamics for fuel mileage, the only way to achieve higher MPGs is with a hybrid system or a lower power output

As before in my conversation, going with this truck is actually a loss to me. I loose the pulling power I had, the power on demand, etc. The Toyota Tacoma, the Nissan pickup with the V6 are doing better fuel millage. Anyway, each to their own, but when I seen the fuel millage, and if I stick with GM , I will stay with a full size. My opinion, I think an option choice motor for this truck should have been the small diesel they are using in the half ton. Thanks for the reply.

I just bought a 2024 Canyon two weeks ago and you are 100% correct about it being cramped and narrow. It has definitely been an adjustment for me. I stepped down from a 2018 Sierra because of the notorious transmission troubles and even before that I had a Ford Fusion which had more leg room than the Canyon and it wasn't really even close. But overall, I think it is a nice ride so far.

I got my 24’ canyon at4 in black about two months ago and I had a 23’ chevy Colorado trail boss in white which got hit by a drunk driver and there was frame damage so it got totaled out, hence why I bought a new 24 GMC canyon at4. I have driven the hell out of both and I loved my chevy but the canyon at4 is a whole other level. I love this truck. Super capable. Perfect for what I do for work, and taking the gf out for some dinner, or hauling ass out of town when society collapses. I’ve got 18” wheels and I think I may put some 35’s on it eventually but this shit is too tight. Worth every penny.
