What a great word for the year, I love that! Mine is “positivity”. I’m just back to work after maternity leave and I have been feeling like I’m going to let everyone down, like I won’t be able to do my job as well as before and that I won’t be able to be a good enough mum for my daughter. I need a mindset shift. So I’m choosing positivity in 2024! It might be hard to juggle work and family life, but if having a baby has taught me anything, it’s that I can do hard things!

My word for this year it’s strengthen. I want to strengthen myself first. With exercise,, want to start small and build up. Strengthen my relationships with family, friends and co-workers. I want to strengthen my mind through reading more books but also trying to learn a new language.

I love “gutsy” as a word for the year! It reminds me of Elsa in Frozen 2. My word is “renew.” I had a baby in August ‘23, and both the pregnancy and birth were traumatic for many reasons. I want to find myself again while I am also stepping into my new role as a parent.

Love that word, I feel like you've already been slowly stepping into that mode and you'll find your stride beautifully. My word for the year is connection I can be guilty of trying to give all my energy to community or larger groups and then being totally burnt out for my people who I love the most at home so I'm going to be more frugal with my energy and attention and search for more connection.

My word for the year is going to be peaceful. I’ll be honest, 2023 was absolutely brutal. I had a miscarriage in February and then it went downhill from there if that’s even possible. I did complete one goal this year already which was to release an album that I’ve been working on for two years so this year is already looking better for me!

This definitely made me want to go home and set up some goals for myself! My husband and I have been to the Excellence Playa Mujeres twice and absolutely loved it both times! It’s an all inclusive, adults only resort in Cancun. The food is amazing, there’s lots of great entertainment, the staff is awesome, and it’s a beautiful resort. Highly recommend 😊

I’ve started this year SO strong and motivated. I’m feeling wonderful about myself and my goals this year because I finally just “started” rather than letting my type A personality over complicate things. That being said, I’ve seen SO MUCH pessimism around new year goals this year so your video is a breath of fresh air! I don’t buy in to “new year, new me” but there is something refreshing about resetting your goals in a new year and after a holiday season! Great video! 😊

I think an attainable and very enjoyable hobby is crocheting. I decided to try learning this a few years back, and it has been so much fun. I don’t do anything crazy but I’ve made my kids and myself and my friends a decent amount of scarves and hats and blankets for new babies. It’s very relaxing and pretty forgiving when you’re a beginner. I had attempted to learn how to knit in college and struggled big-time, so this seemed easier to me than knitting ever was. Also, I just started attempting to rehydrate the dehydrated starter from Honey Homemaking Co. This will be my first attempt at doing your hobby from last year so wish me luck! Also, a couple of book recommendations. Some of my favorite suspense/thrillers I have ever read are The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen and The Only One Left by Riley Sager.

We’ve honeymooned & babymooned in both Mexico and Dominican Republic with them and absolutely love the service and hospitality they provide. And we’ve also done Finest with our little when we did family all inclusive. And currently pregnant with #2 and going to be taking on crocheting in the maternity leave/newborn phase to keep myself on my butt and heal better this time around. 😅

My word for 2024 is consistency for all areas of my life. Two goals I’m really looking forward to is once a month friend dates + going on a solo travel trip somewhere! I set my goal to learn sourdough making for 2024 after seeing your progress throughout 2023, thank you for the inspiration! Also, we honeymooned at the Excellence Rivera Cancun (adults only) and it is amazing! Highly recommend going on weekdays if you want to chill at resorts because the party tends to arrive on the weekends. Wishing you a happy and productive 2024!

Blair you are so inspiring! You should consider crocheting as your new skill - but be warned, it is HIGHLY addictive (do you follow Elise Myers?😂) Anyway, it’s practical, it’s fun, it’s meditative, it travels well, it’s easily self taught through KZbin tutorials…. I could go on and on! There are so many cute patterns on Etsy/online as well. I would recommend carving out some space in your home for your inevitable yarn stash, lol. Also, I can not recommend Secrets resorts enough! Can wait to follow along this year ♥️

Xcaret Arte in Mexico. It may not be exactly what you’re looking for this year, but keep it in mind for another vacation. It’s an all inclusive, the resort is absolutely stunning, and food and drinks are spectacular. However there are a ton of adventures you can choose to go on that are also included. A cenotes tour, zip lining, off road 4 wheeling. Lots of fun!

OMGOOODNESS!!!! I would also say my word this year is “Gutsy”!!! I’ve been working on and developed a really good portion of my new Christian/Catholic ministry,,,, the “Greeting Cards Ministry”…. My word this year isn’t super creative but I think it’s going to be “love”. I have a toddler and new baby and just want to soak up showing love towards them, my husband as we struggle with demands of 2 kids, my home, myself, and doing things I love in general. Just want to focus on loving each moment for what it is instead of complaining or feeling overwhelmed.

I learned how to knit on KZbin and I really enjoy it. Making something you can wear is so gratifying. But something less time consuming is fermented foods like sauerkraut.. it would be a nice addition to the sourdough

Sandals Grenada was a great choice for our honeymoon! It’s smaller scale than most of the other Sandals so it has a cozy, approachable feel and still similar amenities! The beach is beautiful, the restaurants serve really yummy food, we had an overall wonderful experience!

I've designed and contracted out 2 full kitchen gut and remodel in the last 3 years along with a new home build. Absolutely worth every cent. The inconvenience is relatively short lived given the end result. So fun too!

Such great goals! I learned knitting in 2024 and really ended up enjoying it. I was able to make Christmas gifts for a few people, which was very rewarding. I'm not a huge goal setter, so the only goal I set for this year is to run a 5k once per week in addition to my strength workouts. We'll see how that goes!

I feel like for a new skill you’d be great at gardening! Especially in the new house. I’m not from TX so I have no idea what grows well there, but having a small garden of a few veggies or flowers that you can totally learn and take control of seems like something you might like doing!

We were supposed to stay at the all inclusive Moon Palace for our honeymoon but got upgraded to Le Blanc in Cancun. It was adult only and super Luxurious. (As newlyweds we felt a little out of our comfort zone, but it was amazing!) They also have an adults-only resort called Sun-Palace. They’re a great resort group.

My word is Hope. Biblical hope to be clear. It’s sure and steadfast, promised, and predetermined by Jesus in His Word for all who place their trust in Him. I want to grow in hope and longing for His return, like the scriptures speak of. See Romans 8. Just curious if you have any “spiritual” goals for 2024, such as read through and/or study an entire book of the Bible, grow in praying for others, memorize a favorite chapter/Psalm of the Bible, etc. My recommendation is to learn a new Bible study method. So many tools are available online now. One of my goals is to memorize Psalm 1 and meditate on it throughout the year. It is my dad’s favorite Psalm, and I want to honor him in light his passing into Jesus’ presence last year. And I want to grow in my love for Christ and His Word as well.

We loved the Hilton Playa Del Carmen in Mexico! A nice all inclusive on the beach with lots of different restaurants and different things to do. A beautiful resort with very respectful people. Every room as its own indoor hot tub inside if it! We flew to Cancun and took a private taxi that week booked through the hotel, to get to the resort which is only about an hour drive from the Cancun airport! There are lots of great videos about the hotel on KZbin as well if you want to learn more about the resort!
