You know I love my Indian Challenger DH. I rode an HD Road Glide when I went to Hawaii. All the things you said in this video were complimentary for the Indian. The only thing I really heard you say you were worried about were the "what ifs." Like you, I have had no issues with my Challenger as others have had. My bike has been perfect. I don't even have the battery issue that a lot of Challenger owners have mentioned. When you have a very reliable motorcycle, worrying about a dealer network is an afterthought. I think you chose a Harley mostly because that's what you've been riding. You have Harley gear. You have Harley t-shirts, jackets, and I'm sure all types of memorabilia. I know for me, it would be difficult to switch to any other brand knowing all the stuff I've obtained over the years to support Indian, even if that motorcycle was measurably better. Great video.

@@ridingwiththewhitleys3715 I can completely relate to the amount of supporting gear we have. David and I actually joked about it when he bought the Indian and traded in the Street Glide. The what ifs are something I have to consider as I regularly take significantly long rides (5k miles or more). I wouldn’t classify it as worry or lack of faith more of a I know what can happen and prefer to take it into consideration. Honestly the real reasons I still would have picked the RG are simple. Customization options are greater, the wireless connectivity is more seamless, and I prefer the look of the RG (silly reason I know). Thanks so much for watching and commenting as well as giving me some input about your experience with the Indian platform. Always ride safe.

I own a 2024 Low Rider ST and a 2024 Indian Pursuit Dark Horse. Not the same, I know, but I just got the pursuit, and it rides beautifully. I would get a Road Glide, but I was drawn to the Dark Horse. Good video..

Indian teased a new release today via email/video. New bikes getting announced on 1/24. Looks like the Chieftain / Roadmaster may be getting the Power Stroke liquid cooled motor. And rumor has it.. they're bumping it up to a 112CI.

@@jst_moto One other comment.. when you were discussing weight.. the Challenger is definitely more compatible in weight to your RG. I recently picked up a used Indian tour pack for my Chieftain.. and after mounting it to my bike.. I realized I didn't like the additional weight. The Indian tour pack and mounting base alone weighs like 50-60lbs. I ended up reselling the tour pack the next day (and nearly doubling my money 😂).

@@bluegem6559 valid point about his bike having a slightly higher trim package I’ll call it. However the price point even with the trim option he had was not materially different from the 24 RG. Rushmore bikes debuted in 2014, not 2017. 2017 was when the M8 debuted. I switched from an Ultra to a Challenger. It’s just a better bike. With that said, there are no indie shops that work on them, which really sucks.

@ No worries. My 2014 Ultra with the 103 was the first year of Rushmore. They changed around a ton of stuff but the motor upgrade didn’t come until 3 years later. The M8s did have oil issues at first but by 2019 they were solid. I’ve also had a sport glide and a low rider ST. Of all my Harleys, I actually miss the Sport Glide which is long discontinued.

The Indian pursuit is priced closer to the CVOs. So if you talk horsepower and torque between them both then the Harley has more. Additionally, the Polaris is way heavier. I for one don’t want anything to do with the electric suspension and power windshield stuff.

All man I had the Indian pursuit and had to trade it for a new Harley Road Glide. The Indian has a lot of vibration at highway speed whereas the Harley is smooth as silk. No other bike handles better at low speeds than the Harley. Indian infotainment system is just too boxy for me. Looks overall, I like the Harley. I think Indian gives you more bike for the money, such as adjustable suspension, power windshield, puddle light, but these things are not deal breakers for me.

The Harley motor is not inefficient. Harley is an air cooled motor with liquid cooled heads. Indian is full liquid cooled. A full liquid cooled motor will always put out more power then an air cooled even will a smaller displacement engine.im a Harley guy and love the looks of the Harley motor over Indian.
@Anxiousb2 сағат бұрын
It's not about being "shitty" at being efficient. ITS A DIFFERENT MOTOR! You can't make apples to apple comparison of an air cooled to a liquid cooled. Harley revmax 1250 makes 150hp in a 76ci motor. Its a liquid cooled motor. In that comparison, which is more apple to apple, the Indian is "shitty" at being efficient
@jst_motoСағат бұрын
@@Anxiousb the 24 road glide has a 117CI motor that is liquid cooled. I stand by what I said Harley could do better. I’ve talked to many Harley techs and the feeling is mutual. Yeah no thanks, an Indian has an extremely cheap feel, littered with plastic and cheap plastic, outdated and unreliable UI, limited aftermarket performance, and once Indian goes out of business you will have a $30K boat anchor.
