Hey Paul....1st off...thanks for the prompt to use headphones....I have never done that with a KZbin video and yes, it sounds amazing and so realistic. I have pretty much been a hard core Volvo wagon owner and currently drive a V90 T6 which is great but their screen dash layout has never warmed me over...their 2025+ cars are pushing everything to an oversized IPAD in the middle with ZERO driver console...😲 The other thing that Volvo owners have FOREVER lamented about is no glasses compartment like my previous Subaru Outbacks and your CRV. You wouldn't think that is a big issue (OEM's thought process probably) but it IS for owners. I also appreciated in your review without over-hyped puffery.....just the real deal but your words are very car-centric for car people like me. I think this will my next car next year. Thanks for the review.

I did not intend to buy another Honda but after test driving the 2023 touring hybrid, I fell in love with this car and I am not sorry for my purchase. i like the instrumentation much more than my 2015 model and it drives well and is super quiet which I appreciate. 2015 Cr-V Ex AWD owner here. Really like these new models, but I paid $13k for mine used with 65K miles pre pandemic and am SO HAPPY that I don't need to buy a car now. I can sell my Cr-v with 109K for more than I paid for it in this crazy market. Just put new Goodyear Weatherready tires and replaced rear struts. Basic maintenance and replacing wearable parts. Runs and looks new and I hope to not need to replace for a long time but if I had to, I would get this new Hybrid as well. Hope they are as reliable as mine over the long haul.

@@lazyrider6918 great for you. I received a 23,300 dollar payout from my insurance company for my totalled 2015 CRV(Canadian dollars). Looking at getting a Sport hybrid. Waiting for the local dealer to get one in that I can drive one but I am almost certainly going to get one. Currently have a Bronco Sport which I love, it's just a cool looking rig. But I live in WA and gas is almost $5 a gallon. Nice video Paul, I just bought the same vehicle, 2024 CR-V Sport L Hybrid and there is a constant rattle inside it. Are you having this problem too? It sounds like it's coming from the passenger's windshield top right or perhaps the passenger side vent area. Also when braking I have found that I need to keep my distance from other vehicles more than with other vehicles, because it's very difficult to brake. Also you mentioned you like to drive on B instead of D, is that what you do all the time?
@PaulsPlace
@PaulsPlace 6 ай бұрын
That doesn’t sound right at all, you should probably get that checked out. Do you live in a cold climate? Sometimes rattles happen when it’s cold out. Thanks for responding, apparently the visors in the 2023 and 2024 Honda CR-V are a bit different than the 2008 CR-V and 2020 CR-V's which I also owned in the past. I placed the garage door opener on the visors of all these vehicles, and the rattle I was hearing came from the same exact garage door opener placed at the same area of the visor. The rattling sound I was hearing on the passenger side apparently was the movement of the garage door opener from the vibrations while driving. As far as the brakes go, I figured out the proper using of the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. The vehicle can be slowed down quite a bit even without applying the brakes. @@PaulsPlace

The "B" mode will not save on brake pads and rotors. The brakes on this hybrid CR-V are drive-by wire, so the braking is controlled by the computer and it will use all regenerative braking if it can. I'm not sure how the "B" mode works on the CR-V hybrid, but my 2002 Prius throws energy away by spinning the engine in "B" mode. It somewhat reduces battery charging (because it is throwing some of the energy it could put into the battery as heat and noise) and will destroy MPG.

Hey Paul, wondering where you got details about driving in B mode regularly. I’ve driven hybrids a bunch and always understood B mode was basically low gear for big hills or snow. Could you point me to where you found details outlining this use case?
@PaulsPlace
@PaulsPlace 5 ай бұрын
From my understanding, the B mode works completely different on the CRV hybrid compared to others. It just basically turns it into a “one pedal driving” mode. I don’t feel any transmission difference (like low range) when in this mode. I got this from the owners manual.

My dealer says they have a CRV hybrid touring sport at their dealership which Honda has agreed to re-purchase. Do you know what sort of problems it might’ve had to cause that? They didn’t volunteer any information. I’ve heard that there was some difficulty on a similar model concerning the hybrid system, or its motor. That’s not this one.

Overall, the Sport L hybrid is solid, but I had to take mine back, because I hated the front seats (could just be my body type). I liked so much about the vehicle, but I couldn't stick with it because of the hard foam of the seats that pressed against my legs and butt after being on the road 10 - 15 minutes.

While not having a spare is discomforting, I am fairly old and have used a spare tire maybe once in my life? It's real disappointing Honda didn't somehow work in a spare into this vehicle. While roadside assistance works, you will get stranded without cell service. If you drive the average of about 1,000 miles per month (12k/year), you'll save about 2 gallons of gas per week, or 100+ gallons per year. Plug in the price of gas where you live and it's going to save $400-$500 per year right away, and gas prices will probably continue to rise. The hybrid is also much quicker with 247 lb-ft of torque compared to 179 on the gas models. Hybrids are also much quieter, and lower on emissions... if that's important to you.

Hey Doug, thanks for commenting and watching. Nice to hear from a local! However, I didn’t make this comment offhanded with no experience. I’m a biker myself (1000+ miles last year on a road bike), I have no issues sharing the road. According to Ohio R.C. 4511.55 no more than two cyclists may ride side by side. If a lane is too narrow to safely travel side by side (which this was), single file rules must be followed. The lane was too narrow to ride side by side safely. Thanks for your input. I care about cyclist safety. I’ve watched two friends die around here on bicycles so I’m pretty passionate about expressing my opinions. We have a wonderful rails to trail system paid for by our tax dollars that is just beautiful to ride on, I’d rather see people riding that then see another person die on a bicycle because they didn’t follow simple cycling laws. The roads are just too dangerous now, too many distracted drivers. As cyclists, we need to be smart about sharing the road. We can’t automatically assume we will be seen, no matter how much safety gear we have on. Cars will always win the battle. We need to be conscious of proper road safety.
