I've been ruined... In 1977 I started riding GW in 1977 with a new '76 GL1000. Vetter fairing and custom seat with sissy bar back rest. Then went to a '81 GL1100 standard (I still have). Basic bike with plexiglass windshield and Honda trunk. Then I moved to a '85 GL1200 Interstate, I rode this a lot. Now I'm riding a 2005 GL1800A. Damm it, Honda has done it again. At 71 YO I can't stop the urge. OH, more squats, push up, dead lifts, arm curls, leg lifts and forearm exercises. A new GL1800 will keep me healthy!!!

Wow, what a massive stretch! I just sold my 2014 with absolutely zero regrets. Dependable but really an engine wrapped in plastic, far from what I would describe as craftsmanship. My new bike has zero plastic rattle and it doesn’t require the bike to be partially dismantled to change an air filter, what a pleasure.

I was lucky to get it even for half an hour. It wasn't up for test rides just kind of a flex from Honda Romania to be displayed at the event. The guys at Moto24 didn't even have test ride papers for me to sign for it, it was all on trust and a lot of begging =))) But I'm grateful for their support and the risk they were willing to take by giving me the bike without any test ride papers.

Alex, you are one of the best sales, test ride, review, evaluators in the motorcycle / motor scooter world simply because of your enthusiasm for the machines you ride! Your joy translates far beyond ordinary people who ride, video or write for a paycheck. Honda has tried for years to get the “old” motorcycle crowd to buy into & enjoy DCT features. Good for you for sounding out how great it truly is.👍🏻 Best, Rola (Oregon / USA)

What can I say "I like bike!" plus the fact that I got into riding in my 30's and don't have a motorcycle background in my family I'm coming at motorcycles with a clean fresh look on them. My opinions are not tainted by what I was taught about which brand is the best or which style of bike is the best. I ride them and then I can say if I like it or not. I don't care if it's a heritage Harley or some cheap Chinese knock off. If it's a good bike and if it rides well and if it tickles that itch for riding then I'm going to say it. My mind is free of preconceptions and I can enjoy the machines for what they are not who made them. That's the same reason I don't want to get into motorcycle clubs and I steer clear of them and their prejudice.

Hi Alex, and congrats for this new video ! Honda Gold Wing combines luxury, power, and practicality. It’s not just a motorcycle; it’s a legend. For me Hinda Gold Wing represent PERFECTION, combining the best touring motorbike (smooth power, comfort for 2 riders, easy handling despite the size and a lot of safety features) with all the advantages of a maxiscooter (automatic DCT) ! I'm glad that you've shared with us (like always) your genuine & enthusiastic assesment ! Best regards to you and to all your subscribers !

You have to try one at some point, standing you feel it's big and heavy but as soon as you get it moving it's amazing how it feels and with the DCT it really is just as "difficult" to ride as a scooter. You can have the motorcycle experience with the ease of use of a scooter.

I’m 8,000km into my tour DCT and I’m so pleased you’ve expressed all the joy of riding one. It has its negatives too, of course and I don’t care. The bottom line is that it’s an awesome long-day ride with a close relationship to the ST1300 sport tourer. Although not as nimble, the GL thrills ride after ride and chills when you feel like it. It’s just as you describe and more. Thanks for sharing.

Other units we have sold have had a few electrical gremlins that have been sorted or are in the process of being fixed under warranty, so zontes is standing by their products and resolving any issues customers might have.

Do you think a new motorcyclist, a beginner, could ride this bike? Or do you think starting on a 125 is necessary, and working up to this one?
@RideWithAlex3 ай бұрын
I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner. Sure the bike is easy to ride but at very low speeds it's still a 400kg motorcycle and an inexperienced rider will drop it frequently. As a beginner you don't have experience feeling and balancing a bike to keep it upright when doing slow speed maneuvers. You can learn a small light bike because when you make a mistake it's light and you can keep it upright. This one if you make a mistake, it's going down, you can't hold it.
