I received my recall letter Thursday for my 2022 GW and called my closest dealer. He stated that they do not have replacement fuel pumps yet. I've been put on a wait list. And like you, Chris, I also have been across the country twice since 2022 without any problems. I'm heading to Alaska in July, so I would like to get my bike checked before then.

Hey fellow Goldwing Rider…I was hoping to get down to Mr. Chris this winter and do a ride…this little thing called Winter, Kid Plans…PRICE OF SHIPPING..oh yah and Work got in the way😶 But if your on your way to AK49 this summer..I’m on the Kenai Pen..a ‘21 GW owner..and waiting to here from my dealer here in Soldotna as to when I can get my Plastic Chariot in…chances are you being in the lower 48 you will get yours is better than mine in AK. I encourage you to do all you can to get all you can get done. If your making the miles up without a trailer…our Gen GW is kinda like a Super Car the further North you Go…but if you make it up…I’ll ride with you to the Homer Spit and let’s send MR. I also have 2022 wing. My fuel pump is not one subject to recall and I doubt your or any newer wing is currently impacted by the recall. Please check out Chris’s latest video on the subject.

​@DC-rl4rp I just returned from a ride to Tulsa, OK a few weeks ago. The only problem occurred as I was heading home. It appears that a belt(s) broke in my rear tire, while traveling through IN-OH-WV, causing violent vibrations in the steering at high speed. Fortunately, I was able to find a Honda Powersports dealership in Mt. Savage, MD and purchased a new tire. My group of 7 will be heading from MD and AZ, meeting in Three Forks, MT. Then we head to Skagway, AK via Banff and Jasper NP's. Hopefully, our paths will cross out on the roads. Safe travels.

Good Morning Chris! I just watched your video on the Honda Recall notice for the new style Goldwing. So far I have not had any issues with my 2023 GL1800 2023! I'm still enjoying it and riding it as much as possible. I'm looking forward to my trip to Atlanta in June, but in the meantime I'm going to contact the dealership where I bought it to see if my bike is on the recall list. My Goldwing has been Rock Solid. When I first purchased the bike, the Fuel Tank FLOAT was inoperable. Huntinton Beach Honda had it replaced under WARRANTY and we have been good to go!

Isn't the code on the fuel pump stating that A01 needs looking at closer and A02 is ok?

To be safe, I say let your Honda dealership verify if the recall applies to your year make and model.

The recall is also for the 2018-2019 Gold Wings, I have a 2018 and received my recall notice on 4-20-24. The recall does apply to those years also. But thanks for the info

If you go a letter from honda then yes it applies to your year. Check your vin number or model at powersports.honda.com/recalls

Yes sir...Honda is sending out the same safety recall for the 2018-2019 Goldwing also.

Chris, I got my notice from honda and here is the SIMPLE ANSWER. The tech took off the seat. HE WROTE THE PUMP NUMBER FROM THE TOP OF THE PUMP. PUT THAT NUMBER IN COMPUTER, TO VERIFY THE SERIES OF THE PUMP. ONCE DONE, HE REINTALLED SEAT. He added notes on computer. Took ten min. To complete inspection. DONE N DONE. No further service required. In short . All they do it check the model number of the pump on the bike. If the pump is not on the list. There is nothing else to be done. NO charge !!!

I just received a recall. But was at Honda dealership I go to and they said my 2019 Standard Wing, DOES DEFINITELY NEED A NEW FUEL PUMP.

Good Evening All, I just completed the Fuel Pump recall. Like everyone has been saying, it is pretty quick and painless. However, for us CALIFORNIA RIDERS, PLEASE DONT FORGET TO GET THE VEHICLE EMISSION RECALL-PROFF OF CORRECTION CERTIFICATE. THERE IS A STATEMENT RIGHT ON THE RECALL LETTER THAT TALKS ABOUT THIS.

No problem thus far. I have a 2019 Manual GoldWing Tour. Like most of you I called my dealer and no parts to correct the issue as of yet. Guess I will continue to ride it till it puts me down or part comes in to correct.

Chris, I have a 2018. My letter reads differently in that it specifies that parts will not be available until July, at the earliest - dealer confirmed this. He added that the CBR line is equally affected, as are ’19 - ’23 Can Am’s. Right now he has a dead CBR 600 waiting for the pump. Oh yeah - and there are 5M Honda cars worldwide, same years, affected with the same issue.

I’ve had the bike not want to turn on before. Not even the lights would come on. I unhooked the battery and re connected it and it’s been fine ever since. Another problem is sometimes the windshield quits working and u have to turn it off and back on for it to work. I found out if u raise the windshield just a little before hitting the start button it will work every time. Also have problems with the reverse not working all the time. I even had it adjusted and it still doesn’t work all the time.

Riding across country 2 times in 3 years tells me that you are a real rider, have your Honda Dealer to check your Vin to see if you need the recall.

I have a 2022 tour mode here in Ontario Canada and I've had no issues whatsoever. What concerns me is that Honda's recall letter to me states that if I haven't had any problems yet then I should wait to have my fuel pump replaced because of a shortage of parts ATM. Personally, I'd rather have the pump replaced before I end up broken down on the side of the the road. Your thoughts please.

Has anyone actually had, or know someone (personally) that has had the fuel pump go tits up on their Goldwing? I don't know of anyone, nor have I even read if anyone has had issues. But hey, I am glad they are trying to set things right with it. But there have been a few complaints about the audio deck under the trunk. Not only does it affect the display, but the suspension and mapping settings for the bike, as you can't control them properly. I would figure that would have been a bit higher on the list if things to cause risk enough to warrant at least a service campaign...

18-19 models will get a new fuel pump. 20-24 they will only inspect the sticker on the pump to make 100% sure it didn’t have a older fuel pump that my have got by and put on the 20-24 bikes.

The recall was generated because there are actual failures, so even though you have had no issues does not mean you won't. Not all vehicles in the recall will be effected so an examination will be necessary unless Honda has nailed down the exact VIN sequence. In that case you should be able to check on line to see if it applies to you. Safety recalls NEVER expire no matter who now owns the vehicle ... Because the fuel pump is considered a emission device it's only in the land of fruits and nuts that it will be considered a maintenance neglect if you don't comply with the request to get it fixed or examined...

My grip is honda knows what bikes need new fuel pumps really based on your vin# or some number on your fule pump so why couldnt in their letter just if your bike needs it or not so now i gotta take the bike in for inspection then if it needs it then the dealer will order new fuel pump cause we all damn well know they dont have a fuel pump instock and then i gotta bring the damn bike back thats 2 trips i gotta make to the dealership why when they can just tell me if mine needs and then i can haver dealer order the part and make one trip this is crazy and huge inconvenience cause now we are in riding season and dealers are slammed with bikes in for repairs and riders having bikes worked on already for the riding season just my opinion again love your channel

@chriscaliente5033 well this is funny I put in my Vin and it still does not tell me it is recalled it says there is a potentially 1 recall then refers to fuel pump which it states for bikes 2018-2020 so that's confusing as all hell lol thanks for your response look like I am making 2 trips to the dealer...lol

@@michaelsloane1034 sorry for any confusion but the recall applies to certain 2018-2024 Honda Golwings, you may also have your Honda Dealership to check your vin number to see if the recall applies, if it does you may be put on a waiting list for inventory, good luck!

Sending out one blanket letter for all Goldwings from 2018-2024 would have cut down on the fuel pump confusion!

Sure is a lot of recalls. Fuel pump now then the bolt thing ruining engines and transmissions.
