When I was shopping around in 2022 & purchased my latest new vehicle to replace a problematic 2020 Toyota I wasn't happy with, the CX-30 was easily the best compact-sized crossover (IMO) in its price segment for people who still like/prefer smaller vehicles in this sad US market of no true subcompacts, limited true compact offering & mostly just large vehicles. I've been happy with my 2022 CX-30 CE for about 28 months now. Not a single problem or defect to report. I priced out a CX-30 Sport in dark gray for $28,515. Priced out a '23 Rogue Sport for $29,400, but they have a $1K manufacturer rebate no-haggle so its $28,400, and its 225ftlbs of torque because its standard with a turbo the CX-30 doesn't come standard with turbo and so is only 186ftlbs. Length! Ah, now finally the CX-30 has a potential advantage, its 10" shorter so if you parallel park a lot (I literally never do) or have a garage that is extremely shallow (I don't), then that might make sense, because otherwise even if you drive by yourself you'll get more fuel economy and more space for folding down the seats for costco and home depot trips in the larger vehicle and it won't be any slower in spite of being bigger because it has more power.

@@jillh763 the cx30 is great but for me it feel claustrophobic. I’m also 6’1 200lbs so that could have a big impact on that 😅 The Highlander was a fantastic vehicle. I do recommend the outback if you’re considering a Subaru. Take one for a test drive. The XT is a lot of fun. We have about 20 21-22 outbacks in our fleet at work and a couple are over 230k on their original drivetrains!

Crosstrek if normal offroad is included or Mazda CX-30 if the offroad is small. Honda is less reliable and fun.

Hyundai Kona is too ugly. Like most Hyundais, being different just for different's sake, not necessarily a good thing in the long run. Mazda on the other hand, has classic beauty that will still look good 10 years from now.

Idk, but I will not keep a car that long. Although Mazda is very reliable, and the CX5 is made in Japan (not Mex), I will still prefer to let it go around 80k miles.

Great review! I own 2021 Mazda cx30 and recently having thoughts about buying T-rock from Volkswagen. If comparing the these 2 cars wich is the overall best? The roads in the area I live in are of a poor quality. The biggest downside of the cx30 for me is not comfortable driver seat, it's too short and narrow for me.
@plasticdope4 ай бұрын
That's why I went with the CX-5. cx30 is more into speed and style.
@electronicland72144 ай бұрын
@@plasticdope Style is great, in my opinion the CX30 is the best in the subcompact SUV class but in the end, comfort is what I'm looking for. After driving both Mazda 3 & CX30 I think the suspension in these cars is too stiff for a daily city car.

I rented mazda , i know Mazda's have fun to drive name to it , but frankly for me , naah it is not , i felt their side pillers blocks the view of the road. May be that can be negligible may be . But mazada infotainment , I can't even touch their screen , everything have to be controlled through with that stupid dail . And windows are so small. I loved subaru drive but felt their infotainment is so laggy and they didnt give physical buttons even for Ac control. Loved hyundai space , infotainment, smooth drive feel . Liked even Honda , of course honda has good reliability and even interiors are great

HRV is NOT family minded. Truly only a 4 passenger despite the legroom. I had an extended teat drive. Middle seat only fit for a baby seat. As soon as your 5th kid is out of a booster they'll be complaining about the board that passes for a middle seat. Not worth the premium over a Civic Hatch
@jayhiggins5239Ай бұрын
Reviewers must sit in and review the middle seat for the 5th passenger. Otherwise 'family friendly' is a pipe dream.

Been in the car business for 20+ years and out of all of these that you showed i would say mazda has them beat. First off cabin noise the mazda is by far better than the rest. Seat comfort i would say mazda pays more attention than anyone in that price point, toyota and honda are absolutely the worst when it comes to seating and road noise. All the vehicles are very reliable nowadays but its the attention to detail that makes the difference. Mazda also has by far a superior paint job than the rest. most cars have very sloppy paint. Watching all of the automakers now adays and very few actually try to make the car perfect all around, i would say mazda comes closest. if you are all about hybrids now you go completely with toyota, if you are all about electric, throw your money in the toilet because its a fad that is gonna go bye bye very soon.
