You guys are living in a dream world that so many are envious of!! You guys are building your dream!! You are going to turn half the industry upside down with everything you have done! I have loved watching what you have been able to accomplish in a VERY short amount of time. Getting out there and building and being able to repair and engineer things so it’s user friendly for whoever is capable of repairs. Live what you’ve been doing and I am so happy to see your team jazzed up and excited for everything to come together. Without the challenges and accomplishments, none of this would be worth it.

Great to see hands on Gear heads designing and producing with out the control of the Manipulators. As a retired Manufacturing Engineer I'm still frustrated by the lack of application of some evolving technologies, one that comes to mind is that of composite metals, case in point were large pins used in industrial and military equipment which in application became corroded and had to air arced to be removed...a harden steel pin under sized by like 2 mm then laser clad with Stellite 6 would be a possible solution but could never convince the OEM to add these options to the drawing which would normally require Cadmium, Industrial hard chrome, or Zinc coating in a much thinner amount that soon would wear away......Always interesting solutions to problems.....

That part about making Topsy road legal was interesting. It just show that even if you know how to build a truck and make it do what you feel a truck should do and work how you think it should there are still all the legal parts you have to consider. The big manufacturers know very well just what is needed and probably have few if any complaints logged when having their new model certified. However for Edison Motors this was the first time they started from scratch and built a totally new truck and they got a learning experience when having it certified. The next truck will probably be easier as they now know just what they look for and can incorporate these in the design stage before even putting together the frame on the floor.

I've read a bit about when EMD started getting into main line diesel locomotives, there were diesel electrics before this but EMD was trying to replace as many steam locos as possible. Remeber emd was owned by gm at this point and had a good budget and lots of engineering and it still took years before they released a production diesel electric. I think u are definitely following that path and looking god.

I just want to put my idea down before anyone can claim to be the first one to tell you although im sure its something that has crossed your mind, or others. But this implementation would work exceptionally well for first response vehicles such as airport security and air port fire suppression it may be prudent to look into modern fire suppression vehicles for airports and see if it may spark some interest from government contracts and or municipal fire companies. Youd be surprised who would be willing to work with you when they are in the life safety -sphere

Hey I know you’re thinking about going with the Scania motors, but you should really take a look at FPT diesel engines. They have no EGR or DPF, they are exceptionally reliable. They are used in Case New Holland and Claas tractors, so support here in North America is very good because you can get parts at a tractor dealer or aftermarket from other companies.

Case has the worst service ever at our dealers in Colorado so no. Just go Deere. But scania is a great call for Edison to make
@Dutch460922 күн бұрын
@ “just go Deere”😂😂😂 literal dogshit tractors now. Deere has good service because you’re gonna need that service atleast 100 times a month. Pre 2000’s John Deere tractors were great don’t get me wrong, but somewhere around 2005-2010, their quality went straight to shit. The only way that Deere is worth using is if you only intend to lease the tractors and trade them out every year or 2 years before the warranty expires. Literally no one that I know in my area buys Deere for long term, they all trade them in or lease. Nothing but horror stories of mechanical failure after mechanical failure.
