Actually, the white one WILL connect and charge to an iPad with the USC-C cover plug in place. The beauty of this thing, other than the price is that it works with my iPad Mini 5 (which needs the Apple Pencil 1) and my iPad Air 5 which used to have an Apple Pencil 2 before I lost it.

The 2nd pencil you showed with the rubber end and optional fiber tip is a 2 in 1 Active Capacitive stylus. It doesn’t need pairing because you turn it on by allowing it to charge on the iPad or its magnetic USB cradle and since the rubber/fiber tip works by using electrical conduction when pressure is applied the way the iPad reads the stylus when it’s powered on allows the pencil/pen tipped end to work with that same electrical conduction by the aided help of the battery inside the stylus that you charge (hence, active tip) because the conduction allowing the screen to pick up the movement of the stylus is generated by the battery mimicking that of the capacitive end. A capacitive stylus is the same as any other stylus, only it works with capacitive touchscreen devices as well as other types of touchscreens. It features an electrically conductive tip that’s able to absorb some of the device’s electrostatic field. 2 in 1’s like this are my preferred style because no matter what one end always works and the rubber/fiber tip end allows you to swipe up to unlock your iPad and allows for all upward swipes to register. Sometimes the button ended stylus pens don’t return me to my split screen manager home page on my iPad so I stopped buying those. Awesome reviews! Thanks!

Do you find the iPad really heats up when using either the Apple or ESR pencil? Mine gets really hot when using notes and I’ve seen other comments to that effect. BTW, ESR (and other sellers) have pencils which work the same but don’t have have wireless charging and are even cheaper - useful if you get a 2024 iPad Pro or Air which is not compatible with the wireless charging capabilities of both these models.

4:21 loving this pencil. It is charging wirelessly for me on iPad and brand new iPad Mini 6. I am struggling with Bluetooth connection. First device paired seamlessly. Second device is not recognizing the pen. It comes up as “accessory” instead of ESR and then doesn’t pair. Thoughts?

FYI the pairing is only needed for the end click functions. Since there’s no sensitivity functions, etc (on either of them), the soft end one doesn’t have anything that requires pairing.

This is straight up misleading. You say in the beginning of the video that they charge magnetically, the title of the video is 2024 iPad Pro..., yet neither of them charges magnetically on the 2024 iPad Pro (nor does any other pencil pro knock-off). Here, take ma view and a downvote for deliberately misleading people.

I have not noticed any latency, but it is not a huge part of my use. Writing, underlining etc, circling and highlighting work the same as the Apple Pencil from my perspective.
