If there was a recession then the demand for oil would go down I assume, why do analysis think oil does well during a recession or stagflation? Well compared to other industries or commodities or well as a whole?

Then why bothering watching this video if you don’t trust gold at all? History always repeats itself. Seat back and you’ll be proven wrong. It is only a matter of time now. By the way, for the record, it already went up 30% since pre-covid (it was @ ~ 1,500 early 2020 and had actually started its steady progression from lower levels - back in 2019 - by then)… and this is in ‘favorable’ $ currency (as it even did better in most other ones). Not too bad for a safe haven imo.

I think it could be more clearly portrayed that gold stocks will be hit during a recession as everything willl go down but it will bounce back the quickest. Isn't this fair to say as opposed to gold stocks go up in a recession?

Adrian is talking about the overall recession cycle and how gold, silver and associated stocks will go up. Mining stocks are dramatically discounted right now, historically. Who knows, this could be the bottom, after all, we have never seen gold achieve record highs in a Fed rate hiking cycle. This time may be different for stocks. If not, trying to time the market to gain a few percent down from already discounted mining stock prices, you may have to buy in as stocks are suddenly jumping. Get your position now, hold through any short-term downtrend, then enjoy the ride up, being prepared for years later when it may, maybe, be time to move to other assets.
