Sooo….. I bought the Clayton overland lift. Literally the Powdercoating is chipping off the arms and it hasn’t even seen dirt yet. I’m buying the MetalCloak lift with the zinc, NOT IMPRESSED!

I also get the performance indicator with my ‘22 4-door Rubicon w/ 2.0L. I’ve read there is a TSB to update the PCM. I was under the impression this only affected the ‘22 and ‘23 with 2.0L. I’m surprised you are seeing it unless your ‘24 was produced before the software update?

How about a price comparison... Between buying a rubicon to the modifieing a base model?

Buying a low priced sport has its advantage in that you can keep your upfront cost low and add upgrades as the budget allows. A Rubicon has an advantage of lockers and Dana 44s front and back (only the Rubi's and Willys have those; some Sports and other trims will have a Dana 44 rear but all Sports, Sahara's and some other trims have Dana 30 fronts). If all you're wanting is to run some 35s and do mild to moderate trails, just buy a Sport. If you want to do bigger tires than 35s, a Rubicon or Willys is a good buy, especially one with the 4.56 or 4.88 gearing (if you can find it). It takes a lot more to get to 37s on a Sport than it does to 35s. Putting 37s on a Sport is like 40s on a Rubicon.

I think the RockMonster MPR hood would look killer on Ryan’s jeep. I’ve got it and it’s a combo of a Rubicon and Mojave-esque look. Not seen many out there with it, which is why it was my choice.

You mentioned there are some great aftermarket hard tops out there. For a 2 door, not in my experience! I settled on a used stock freedom top. I love it. And it was $1600, leaving me with enough cash to bedliner it tan (on my black '24 2 door). I haven't done that yet, but I think it'll look good.

2005 TJ here. I was going to buy a brand new Willys… During Covid by the time I optioned out the goodies. $49,000 minus California fees taxes blah blah. So funny the owner of this beauty of a jeep enjoys tooling around in his jeep for fun, I do the exact same. Mine is a 6 speed, I enjoy shifting/going through the gears. Not so much fancy upgrades but? I love what my jeep is. 😂
