Thank you for taking time out and doing this review. Everyone does the reviews and raves for the higher trims, but the base trims often get ignored. This is the trim I am looking to buy for my kids who have just started driving, so appreciate the insights you provided.

I have the LX, and for some reason whenever Im driving it, the AC comes on... Like when its hot outside (weather) the AC automatically comes on, and when its cold outside the heater comes on... That happens even when the fan/AC is off! Why does that happen?

They downgraded some things for the upgraded displays. I own the base 2021 model paid around 22k and that has roof rails, leather wrap wheel, combination seats leather and cloth, midle arm rest and cup holders in the back all armest are ligthly paded and stiched. Not sure if losing all that is worth the updated displays still have a decent 8 in in mine.... whats the price now on these?

No roof rails, not even as an option, on the LX. Having no roof storage capability on a subcompact is insane.

It's a base trim...you want roof rails buy them or more up the trim level

It would have been nice to mention any safety features like lane assist, blindspot monitoring, bike or pedestrian monitoring...these are features people want regardless of the trim which affect the sticker price and/or the trim (sigh).

I will say no reason to buy base as for 700 dollars more the s gives you so much more.

When you build a Seltos regardless of trim, the variation between the website quoted price and what you get from the dealers makes a buyer question the honesty of ANY QUOTE....literally I found no consistency AND none of the dealer quotes were anywhere close to what the Kia website was implying so something is "rotten in Denmark".

Seltos is decent, but even with long wait times for the Corolla Cross , HRV are better options long term.......

HRV has oil dilution problems and weak transmissions. Stay away from those and get a Seltos. Many people love their Seltos's.

The Corolla Cross Hybrid is the only version you should buy, but good luck on getting your hands on one. The CC only competitor is the Niro. The non-hybrid CC is an excellent value on the lower trims vs the lower trim Seltos, but terrible on the top trim. The same can be said of the HRV. I also want to make a correction for the commentor on the HRV engine: It have the N/A 2.0 I-4 and not the oil dilution 1.5t I-4, but it need that engine bad to move its newfound weight from its growth spurt.

@@JT-fq2bl The only thing with the Corolla Cross is that it looks like it is already 10 years old on the interior. Interior materials are also cheap, fit and finish isn't as good as the Seltos (idk about the HRV)

I understand and as a consumer, it was for me too... until I drove it. Kia has done a good job improving on the cvt, they call theirs an ivt, and honestly it drives great and I didn't even notice it (which is a good thing).
