How would you compare the forks to the DAL SOGGIO SPHERE FORK CARTRIDGES you had before?

I still love the Dal Soggio Sphere Cartridges which I have fitted on my 2017 KTM 300 EXC. No plans to change them for anything else. It's difficult to compare these directly to the XPLOR closed cartridges on my 2024 as there are many other differences. What I will say is that unlike the stock 2017 forks (which I didn't like at all, felt very unstable and deflected) the 2024 performs well in stock form. Could it be better? Yes and Dal Soggio recently announced a bladder kit (XR Kit) which can be fitted to 2024 WP enduro model closed cartridge forks and replaces the stock piston/spring pressure reservoir. This should result in improved plushness and grip. Keen to try it and will make a video if I get it. Shock Treatment have an interesting video which gives some detail regarding the XR kit: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iauyq5qkrseeqrM

I’ve got the 24 hard enduro, stock is perfect, just went 1 up on spring rate on fork and shock other than that `I just ride it. It’s definitely better than previous models. as for shock I have no issue with it, clickers work well, so just a matter of dialling in the ideal setting and improving riding technique

My riding buddy (he appeared a few times in the video video) is on a 2024 300 Har Enduro model. His bike is stock too. He rode mine on Saturday for the first time and was surprised at the difference in power. He said the TSP map and head has much better torque and responsiveness. But if you're happy with the stock map performance and way your bike runs fair enough... Regarding suspension, yes, the 2024 is easily the best stock suspension I've had on a bike and very rideable stock for what I do. But I do like mods if I think they will further improve my enjoyment, which is why I'm considering a bladder for the shock and a bladder pressure reservoir for the forks.

One more question, I'm at 95 hours. I plan on doing top end in the next 15-20, what's your thoughts on meteor pistons? Started shopping for kits an there's not a lot to choose from, always used vertex in the past. Super pleased with bike, I also have ERM an medium comp head.

Both Meteor and Vertex 2-stroke cast pistons have good reputations so I think either is fine. KTM often use Vertex as OEM. Personally I always use OEM.

The version of the map I'm currently using is 3BE-24-I (unchanged from when I first installed the TSP map): kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooqzg4Rqaa9ngJIsi=-qw1OtbpSRuY7Ihn&t=279 I see that the latest version is 3BE-24-J. Version notes: "This is the latest tune for the 2024 300EXC (XC-W). This tune has changes to the Green map compared to the previous 3BE-24-I tune. The changes involve adjustments to fuel, ignition and powervalve at low throttle and mid/high revs to reduce the engine knock that is experienced on some bikes in this zone. The Green map is the aggressive/tuned map. The White map is softer with more fuel, less ignition advance, slower powervalve opening and is better suited to hard enduro or slower technical riding. Can be used with the stock pipe and silencer or the FMF Fatty pipe. IMPORTANT: Set TPS to 0.40v with both red and yellow adjusters backed all the way out." I haven't experienced any engine knock with 3BE-24-I. But I'll update the map next time anyway...

Great insight! Regarding the bike loading up, did you ride it before you deleted the oil injection, if so did it also load up then, wondering if when lugging around the injections system would have gone to a leaner ratio that may not have loaded up? Thank you!
@TokyoOffroad
@TokyoOffroad 4 ай бұрын
Yes, I rode it with the stock map, before deleting the the oil injection. It felt quite rich off the bottom. When I deleted the oil injection and started using premix (I use 60:1) it improved a little, but still felt too rich. There was a partial throttle rich burble. Switching to the TSP map and it runs very well.

The TSP map works great on my bike. Highly recommended. My switch to a 9mm clutch master has resulted easier clutch pull with one finger. I was looking at aftermarket clutch levers which give a mechanical pull advantage, but for now I'm going to stay with a regular one.

Thanks for the video! With the new forks have you found an easy way or any useful tools to adjust the rebound clickers when the fork shoe guards are on? I find they block my fingers from getting in to turn the clickers. So far I'm removing the fork shoe for each adjustment & replacing it after. Easy to do but I'd rather not.

No, I'm using 13/50 gearing. Stock is 13/45 on the 2024. If you want to stick with the 45 sprocket my recommendation would be to use 12/45 if you ride similar terrain. I did talk about this in the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3LTemV3ZrJ_rMUsi=CelMc5Dm5oZKPspf&t=884

Sorry to hear that. What fuel are you using? I use high octane pump gasoline (100 RON) and no engine knock, either stock, or currently using TSP medium comp head with premix 60:1, sea level to 1,500m. If you're using low octane fuel at low altitude it will be more prone to knocking.

As for 9mm master, I'm trying a mid-west easy pull clutch lever. Ive heard people say the mid-west lever an 9mm master are similar as far as throw an engagement? I dont really like the engagement on the Midwest, clutch seems easier modulate with standard lever in super tight/technical. Do u have any experience with Midwest lever if so how would you compare it to the 9mm. I have large hands so extra travel doesn't bother me. With the Midwest it does have more travel but to me the engagement point is very on/off
@TokyoOffroad
@TokyoOffroad 4 ай бұрын
I find the 9mm Brembo master has a broader friction zone, which for me makes it easier to modulate power in technical riding. If the increase on overall lever throw (compared to the stock 10mm) I'd recommend the 9mm master to anyone who rides technical terrain and uses the clutch a lot. Regarding the Mid West lever, I personally haven't used one because multiple riding buddies have tried it and not been happy with it. Adjustment seems to be very tricky (either dragging, or slipping). And personally I don't like the very square profile shape of the lever. One of my buddies ended up with a Clake One light clutch which he really liked. For me I'm happy with the performance and feel of the Brembo 9mm.

@TokyoOffroad
@TokyoOffroad Ай бұрын
Yes, I still have me 2017. With the mods I've made it's a really fun bike to ride. The 2024 with Two Stroke Performance medium comp head and ERM tune makes good, smooth and responsive power. On my 2024 I'm still running the stock suspension, which for my riding (slower mountain riding) works well. Easily the best stock suspension on a bike I've had. Planning to add a bladder to the rear shock soon.

Hi there and thanks for the video. Planning to buy my first ever enduro 2T, worried about smashing the pipe. In a recent video (can’t find it again) I remember you arguing against pipe guards as they tend to damage the flange. Is that so? Do you use a flange guard or nothing at all?
@TokyoOffroad

Yes, I use a flange guard. They are not expensive and provide some good protection to help prevent breaking the exhaust flange on the engine. Whether you fit a pipe guard, or not, it's a good idea to fit a flange guard... Cancel Reply
