2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport Review: Is The Most Affordable Land Rover Better Than Before?

Land Rover’s most affordable SUV, the Discovery Sport, has gone through a makeover and there’s quite a bit to talk about. With the new update, the 2024 Discovery Sport now matches some of its bigger, more premium siblings, while being around Rs. 3.5 lakh cheaper than the 2023 model year SUV. lack of tactile controls are a big minus.. especially if the screen conks off you are done for, and in some cases where cars are parked in the sun very frequently, the screen tends to glitch and blackout eventually.. bad news..

This is a baby Land Rover but i was expecting a plug-in Hybrid for the extra-torque but unfortunately its not the case. Off-road SUVs work much better with mechanical buttons and knobs, however the touchscreen feels very odd in this context. The granularity in controls has gone with the older generation Land Rovers. If you are frequent off-roader the touch-screen becomes even-more painful, Safety and comfort are the USPs of this Baby-LR

I agree with you. However, I feel even though Land Rover's off-road legacy is iconic, with models like the Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque, the focus is mainly on positioning them as a lifestyle vehicle, hence the use of touchscreens rather than buttons and knobs. That said, I am still not a fan of it.
