It's very similar to the new Toyota Land Cruiser. But the main diffferences are, the Lexus has a 3rd row and a V6. The Land Cruiser is 2-row and has the Hybrid I-Force Max 4 cyl.

And the base Lexus GX550 is cheaper than most expensive Land Cruiser. To me thats a winner.

@@MattTheCarguy Yes, there is some price overlap between the Land Cruiser and GX, at least theoretically. But in reality, I doubt there are going to be a lot of base $64,250 GX on dealer lots. I suspect most will be loaded with extras. As you said, the car you tested was actually sticker priced around $67k, same as the base price of the Land Cruiser Premium. I suspect it will come down to if you want the V6 and the third row and the Lexus badge.

Most dealers have many orders from people who put down deposits. One in my area has about 100 orders. It will be a few months before they are fulfilled. If you are looking to buy one, find one to test drive and place an order. If you change your mind, im sure they will refund your deposit.

Beautiful car, and I was thinking about buying it, but I'll pass for now because it's missing: 1. Third row seats don't have enough room. Why not give it the same third row seats as the TX 2. When third row seats are up, there is not enough cargo room.... look at TX as an example. It has 20 cubic feet 3. Hate the bump in the center seat 4. Toyota Sequoia has more luxury material than GX, I feel like I'm being cheated 5. KDSS should be on all trims with the amount of money 💰 spent on this car

Well, its a different vehicle than TX, TX is mostly mall cruiser with no capabilities of the beaten path, a luxury raised minivan which is great if that is what you like. Third row seats are bigger on TX and many other mid size SUVs, no question about it. Depending on your needs thsi may not be the right solution for you. What wins me over are the off road capabilities and a powerful powerplant which you dont get on TX. Sequoia has even less room and is about the same price.

I agree, would much rather buy this than top of the line Wrangler or Bronco which are in the high 60s low 70s.

How close to base was the price on this one? I know it starts around $64k but can increase with options.

This one only had head up display, mats and a cold area package. List was around 67k. Its in the description. Worth to mwntion that this was a demo vehicle which the dealership cant sell for some time so it wasnt for sale at the moment.

Is it quiet on the highway? 300 series is not.

I did not take it on the highway but did not hear much noise. I heard that you can hear wind noise at higher speeds.

I went to couple of dealers of NY, and I had a visual inspection . You wont get a car with the advertised price. Little confusing price when you really ask for a print out somewhere $2500 to $3000 EXTRA between Premium and Premium Plus( Premium Start @ $64250 Plus $2500 added unwanted item from factory also premium plus Starts $69250 plus $3095 unwanted added feature . Totals $72345 plus Tax and Tag fees. Vehicle looks good It is a Gas Guzzler with V6 Engine, Worse than their V8. But Higher torque and more horse power. 20" wheels looks elegant than 22" Wheels. Soon I will test drive one

For now dealers will definitely take advantage of low supply and high demand, but give it some time and will be more reasonable with no add ons. As far as gas mileage, last years model was rated 15/19 this one is 15/21 so slightly better but considering more hp and torque and higher tow rating its a win in my book.

Lexus Memory System is standard on Premium plus but not Premium.

It was a demo that they had so it wasnt for sale. They did mention thst there was a waitlist.

There is no markup now, it is a sales pitch. many of the sales people does not what comes in the car. Either sale pending or sold sign displayed. Which is not true. If the car is sold how in the hell, then people go inside the vehicle and feel all the buttons and goodies.

@@thomasjohn6272 most of the dealerships have a demo which was the one that I drove, and it is a special allocation that cannot be sold for some period of time. These are the ones that you can check out, play with the buttons and drive. Many dealers have waiting list. I have yet to see one in stock and available for sale.
