That full pipe was legendary in the 70s and 80s for the skateboard world. Some pretty rad pictures in Transworld Skate Mag, and circulating on the internet... Massive in person. X-Maxx handled it like a beast. But its sketchy XD

Yeh i can remember when having a gas powered xmax was it, just before the revo came out and was like 550 all in and with a good steady then quick rip on a banked hill on wet grass you had something that ripped, ripped so much my buddy would put his truck bk in the trunk and we would just rip the xmax "i cant remember what the other top truck was around 200/7/8/9? time bk in the day that was out b4 the xmax came out but that little 2.5 2/3 geard box with all steal props and mesh and you would be flying past everything especially with some decent aftermarket radial tyres that didn't ballon and be constently be popping the spr glued tyre bead, walk on water fast. And befor there was the 4/6/8s battery packs with decent controllers thats all there was, good times. Not sure what makes it so expensive but its probably the brand and quality of stdrd parts as traxas brand took off thanks to the xmax, defo in the uk at the time, good times. Miss the old rexex too, allthough i think everyone had one of those and was an easilly affordable and plentifull enough on the second hand market. Dunno why drifting that buggy on small loose gravvel on car parks ect was so addictive and i suppose like doing the same with the x on wett grass as aposed to allways be struggling to keep it from wheeling or flipping constantly if it was on a dry surface, the games movved on so much these past fifteen years im sure, sure do miss it though. A pure as it gets fun wise, just like bmx, mtain biking on a good dowhill trail, stating pools or a decent park or ripping the quad or crosser/ dirt bike in the dunes or woods and the like.

You know, I love this rig and have since the first 8s version. It, in my opinion is still the king. That said, I feel the term “ultimate” has a loose translation in this specific application. You guys missed a few serious issues that could have easily been addressed during your quest to make the “ultimate” X Maxx.

honnêtement c'est très cher par contre si tu prends le cout des pièces option dessus c'est pas cher en réalité en gros si tu achètes un xmaxx 1200 et tu veux l'optionner comme la plupart fond, alors la c'est bcp plus rentable la version ultimate avec au moins 500€ de pièces option traxxas. Apres le xmaxx de base est déjà très très bien et ne coute pas cher du tout en entretien.

$1,500 isn’t bad for what you’re getting. I priced out 3rd party hop ups on a roller and it was about $1,400, and that assumes you already have a radio. Plus these are 1st party aluminum parts. $1500 to get an indestructible Xmaxx is a good deal imo.

like alot of their older "ultimate" models. it will come with aluminum upgrades already installed on the vehicle as seen in this video

Sure it’s cool, but you don’t need 90% of that alloy. The only things that break on a stock XMAXX are the center driveshaft and the arms(sometimes) to be fair, the turnbuckles do break sometimes and that is upgraded on the Ultimate, but that’s the only part that was upgraded that actually breaks. Sure it’s a cool collectors item but I want to actually drive an XMAXX, not stare at it.
