After seeing multiple reviews of this car from different countries I think it is safe to say that most car reviewers in India have no clue what they are talking about. I have seen at least 10 + reviews and this is the first one saying that the engine is lacking performance. In fact many used the word "peppy" to describe the engine. But here he says it "lacks punch and its response is languid". Bruh, its got higher torque at lower revs than the outgoing model. How is it "languid" as you put it? I would like to know what these guys use as their daily driver. It seems to me their vehicles are reaching speeds of 200 kmph on the highway.

Ditto! Foreign reviewers aren't cribbing about 3 cylinder. Indian reviewers just don't get the "use case" of the car. What option does the Indian public have - unreliable, unrefined Indian make cars or Korean gas guzzlers ? Perhaps high sales will change their view!

+ as if they don't know what do Punto Abarth, Baleno RS and other such cars have in common? They all stopped selling, as the companies didn't survive on reviews of these driving enthusiasts :)

Not many take such reviews seriously when the Indian consumer buys a car. The sales figures tell a complete different story.

The design and packaging is fine. They have not messed up. The engines are fine too. If they managed to get 5 stars in crash tests, this will sell. Cars with lesser refinement but higher crash scores are selling in huge numbers. So why can’t this.

The swift sport should have been launched a decade ago. I really want MSIL to bring in this car with 1.0 turbojet + AT. However, that trim will easily be 10-11 lakhs ex-showroom. Maybe they are scared about the pricing, MSIL being a mass numbers manufacturer. There are many like me who would buy it though.

I still think this is possible sub 10 lakhs if there are volumes. That is chicken and egg. But it is achievable in our market imho

@@sidpatankar Sub 10 lakhs, it would be a success. Just see the prices of a used Polo GT TSI in the market. 1.0 boosterjet with TC won’t give the thrills of TSI with DSG, but there is a good market for sporty hatchbacks.

Like you said a 1.2 three cylinder N/A engine can never be a hot hatch. Warm for sure! At a later stage hope Maruti will plonk in the 1 ltr turbo to make it a hot hatch. A "cross" hatch would be a welcome addition. For now the 2024 Swift is an ideal family hatch (car)....

Easily the best review watched today on the new swift!! Definitely it's feeling a lot overpriced now, Its not just because of the price figures, but due to the value they are offering on each variants especially at 11.32L for the top end AMT , they shd hv offered a lot more kit including a CVT gearbox as in international spec , or even a 1.0 turbo as SVP said, forgetting all other missing features. They have added many things like better insulation, better safety kit , better ARAI figures, what else ? Nothing right ? That weird looking speedo, with 100km at 2500rpm 👎 7.7-11.3L is too much for it !!
