I just test drove this today. Overall for positive aspects, the car is definitely smooth and rides very very well. NVH is pretty decent, brakes are good and steering has good feedback. But the car is sorely underpowered, and I'm not sure why but there's a noticeably hum from the exhaust inside the cabin. Seats are too stiff for my liking, and the amount of plastics makes the car feel too cheap IMO.

The back kinda looks like the saga which in itself kinda looks like the C-class rofl. Tri-Claw taillights is very Peugeot-ish as well. Not a bad look for the price. I hate the oxymoronic marketing though, there's nothing British about newer MGs (and Lotus lol). Edit: Also Aiman, superb delivery on the video! Keep doing the good work mate 👍

0 ancap safety, asean ncap most likely 3. As shown by ancap, better don't get bang from the side, it will hurt the driver and passenger very very badly, like icu level. this is because the pillars are really thin. It doesn't come with pre tensed seat belt, meaning in case of emergency, it doesn't reduce the lunge forward momentum. You have to understand China car manufacturers mostly cheapen out on metal, that is why you see the other brand has rear axle going off issue. It only has 79ps instead of the preclaimed 115ps. Go ask the Thais on real dyno outputs. Malaysia has high accident rates, do your own assessment, it is your money.

Safest car in the world cannot even save you from accident but safe and defensive driving can. Let us not just buy a car solely based on any ncap star rating because it is just that; a rating. My opinion is that a car is only effective at providing their optimum safety when the driver uses it within the car's limit. Ncap rating are based on a simulated crash test. While it can be a helpful indication of safety, it is not a sole defining factor to buying a car. Definitely not to the upper range of B40 and M40 groups. Otherwise Axia Rahmah should not be around in the first place.

Correct about the lack (or shortage) of ultra high-strength steels or gigapascal steels in the structure. Side impact and pole impact tests pretty much flunked. However, if you look at the ANCAP site as to why they got a low score, a huge contributor to it is because it doesn't have safety aids that drives the car for an idiot driver who can't keep his eyes on the road and drive attentively. Basically, that would mean any previous-generation vehicle without active safety that are otherwise pretty safe and strong (like the old Preve, the previous Civic, the pre-IQ Drive volkswagens, older Audis, etc) are likely to be rated 0 or 1 star by the revised Woke ANCAP Standards.

Those who complain about 0 star ANCAP rating, why not drive Toyota and Mazda and see whether proven durable or not where Toyota and Mazda have caught in durability test failures Toyota have caught safety test failures for several times with lots of recalls, lots of quality issues too while Mazda also have lots of quality issues too but with engine issues, transmission issues and concern about engine emissions as many are concerned whether Mazda still trustable or not based on engine durability and engine emissions where heard from mazda owners complaining about engine and also replacement cost for mazda engine also like buying small car Going to aftersales, once buy toyota and Mazda, you will have to face more challenges too while mazda parts also not easy to collect too as heard from one of Mazda owner also no parts after waiting for one month Think about it, and now realize on why Toyota and Mazda not as good buy as MG where MG durability is better and have better aftersales and at least not much issues than before

MG5 is a sedan..... Where as the Axia is a hatchback. The MG5 should compete with the Vios and City..... The Axia should compete with the Mitsubishi Mirage 😅
