Achane not hitting holes as fast as last year either. I do find that our OL sometimes is so fast to get to secondary blocks, but they ignore d-lineman. Those DL get on our running back right away. Their defense played faster, schemed mcdaniel into the dirt and seem stronger at point of contact on the line.

@dmark_23 i either screen record from my phone or i have a (rather clunky) process to either screen record from the computer or use a chrome extension to download - then i convert it - then transfer to my phone if I'm marking it up. It is almost certainly not the best method 🤣

Thanks again for the breakdown! What I gather is that I haven't realized how much the guys don't truly understand their assignments. Good on Houston for scheming certain looks but guys seem to look lost at times. The 2 man rush that still yielding pressure almost made me throw up. No I get while Tua was seeing ghosts at times. I get it the bookends were backups

@ChrisLarrondo i think a big part of it is that there's just too much to cover up right now. We knew the guards needed help. But now you're down to a rookie & the 5th OT on the other side at T. And pass pro isn't Brewer's top attribute. So it's just a lot to overcome

@@OLCoachSmith63 I wanted to ask you this as a follow up. Rob Jones does the touch when Tua is ready. Isn't this a pretty huge tell that puts them heavily on the back foot?
@OLCoachSmith632 күн бұрын
@ChrisLarrondo teams across the league use similar action. Its like any other snap count, you'll see them switch it up. Maybe 2 touches, or a delay, stuff like that.

Dumb luck is a real thing. And it can go one of two ways. Good dumb luck or, bad dumb luck. Miami runs into a lot more of the latter than the former. Never makes sense why.

After all these years this team still doesn't have 2 starting caliber guards. The tackle situation was tough but at least Paul looks good. One of the problems I have with this OL is that they lack power. Jones has power and so is Paul but unlike Paul, Jones is not athletic enough. Eichenberg doesn't have power and maybe that's why he couldn't get the hand off his throat? I also think sometimes the offense is too complex at times and so I don't quite with the idea McDaniel has that we don't need really good OL. It's tough to run this scheme. What do you think?
@OLCoachSmith632 күн бұрын
@gelandres IMO, Jones is OK as a starter. If he's the worst of your 5, it's probably a really good line. This offense requires high level play at the tackle positions. They have that with Armstead and Jackson in the lineup- but too often over the last 3 years they aren't in the lineup. They've taken a step in the right direction with Paul - but they need to stabilize the other spot to 'fix' the OL

The only reason Liam should be on team is the fact that he has played all 5 positions in a pinch. Why wasn't he at right tackle over 76 a practice squad guy who has never played tackle before????? Why did we cut Cotton if Wynn isn't ready? Total fail😢
