2024 Mini JCW (F56 LCI 2) - Is it actually the BEST and worth every ££$$

Had my LCI2 since November 23’ now. Absolutely love it, I managed to snag one in a fully spec manual which is a hard find since they gate keeped certain spec options for automatic only after 2022. Brilliant car, thrilled

i also got the little software bug where one of the circles is not aligned with its outer circle in the main menu 😄 I love your steering wheel, mine got these new glossy Buttons which i dont like at all. Great Car!

Every car seems to have some issue these days??!! Not worth stressing over, it is only a car 😀 Just enjoy the drive 👌 Hopefully the steering wheel won’t wear too quickly, time will tell 🤞

Interesting review, I've gone from a BBR Super 200 tuned NC to an F56 JCW as I needed a more practical car and it was pretty cheap for what it was. I've since put lightweight 17s and coilovers on and it's honestly great, feels really special, and as you say a lot faster even than a tuned MX5 (not even tuned the Mini yet). I agree there's something more about them than most hot hatches. Character probably.

@@tameracingdriver bought the mr2 as a project to learn a bit of spannering on. Turns out it’s a belter, hidden gem imo. Probably spent more than it’s worth now, doh 🫣 Think the mx5 might go next year, time for a change/try something different, yup it’s a disease, good one though 👍

I've always liked the Mini JCW variants but even the standard cars have that chuckability factor that brings a simile to the face. I think the MX5 ace is the roof, easy to operate and brings a completely new dynamic to the drive. However you've got both and more so happy days :)

The open top motoring of the Mazda is fantastic, with you all the way there. Plus the convertible mini looks crap, so you kinda have to have both 🤔 Don’t you just love man-maths 🤣🤣

It’s the 8 speed Aisin gearbox - ZF8 is longitudinally mounted 👍 Same Aisin unit you get in the JCW Clubman and M135i (pre LCI).

An mx5 is actually quite softly sprung so the ride is better, but overall, space, shape, driving position etc I’d say the mini is more comfortable yes
