Do the Braves and the Mariners have a chance being 1.5 Games back of the 3rd wild card seed?
@parkroote5902Ай бұрын
@@TouchingBasesPod always have a shot...... Especially the mariners with the way the twins and royals have been playing. The Tigers are all but in, since they end the season against the white Sox. I don't follow the NL as closely to know about the braves, but 1.5 games isn't bad if they hold the tiebreakers.
@TouchingBasesPodАй бұрын
@parkroote5902 sadly they don't. The mariners don't hold the tie breaker against the twin nor the Royals. As of this moment. Astros just took the final division game and the twins won. Sooooooo I think this jason heyward bomb for the second night in a row may have put the mariners to bed.... but I'm waiting for the braves Mets results. Game one today.

Guardians vs Phillies is what I've been banking on most of this year, thank you sir for giving Cleveland some respect❤️ What I'd give to hear Tom Hamilton give Cleveland a championship call
@TouchingBasesPodАй бұрын
@aKulex I think I'd pay money to hear him call the opening broadcast to game one. But it just makes sense if the teams continue. Right now, I feel the Royals slipping up these last couple series so I guess I have concerns there. I wasn't expecting for them to get swept by Detroit.

@TouchingBasesPodАй бұрын
@samwelch7328 I promise I didn't, I'm trying to be as objective as possible. I want to see the Padres and mariners make it but it's just not realistic. The padres don't have the best track record against the dodgers or the phillies and no matter what they would have to play one of them or both and it's just hard to say they have when they need to make it.

i dont think dodgers will advance at all. no pitching staff 😂

@redashi Well as I track this wild card. It maybe dbacks and Brewers instead of Mets. Who would you say is the easiest for the dodgers ro beat if they made the ALDS?

@TouchingBasesPodАй бұрын
@AlexAlmonte-dm3rf You are missing the point. He has had a great season but jas cooled off. Since September 7th, he is batting .200/.385/.425 with 15 Strikeouts with only 8 hits in 40 at bats. It's not good. If he can explode back to his norm in October then you maybe right. But he hasn't ever been a playoff star. .261 average in the playoffs which is well below his career average. So you can expect him to go 1-4 in the playoffs if he shows up like 2019 and 2022.

I’m sorry there is just no way the guardians beat the yankees. The guardians record is inflated because they play the white sox , and they have no starting pitching. The Yankees also won the season series. The yankees are finishing the year very very strong, the only team that maybe could beat the yankees is the astros
@TouchingBasesPodАй бұрын
@jatbeach5371 this was also re order when judge hasn't hit a home run in 15 games and was batting .209 and soto was batting .221.
@harrisonrhinehart6996Ай бұрын
You clearly don’t know ball, the guardians are only 8-5 against the white Sox this year. And they have solid starting pitching in Bibee, Cobb, Boyd, and Lively, paired with a lights out bullpen. On top of that they have multiple lineups they can throw out to versus LHP and RHP. Yankees aren’t as good as everyone claims..
@parkroote5902Ай бұрын
Pitching matters more in the postseason. The Guardians have an historically elite bullpen. We'll see in October.
