@@ronniead5317 I can’t tell you from the perspective of someone who upgraded from an old windows laptop but I can give mine. I personally LOVE it, it has so much features that my previous macbook did not have. I play my favorite games like Titanfall 2 Overwatch 2 and Battlefield without problem (especially since my PS4 broke ever since). The screen also surprised me how smooth it is , going from 60hz to 144hz IS HUGE and i lokey be hitting some nasty shots in TF2. But I doubt these games are hard to run for any computer. The CPU handles my music production tasks with a breeze, I’ve only ever had it crash like ONCE opening one of my biggest projects. I recently invested (ONLY) $140 for a 2 TB ssd and installed it myself. Ive never opened a computer yet this one made it so easy to install and operate. I love it but I don’t doubt there are better options for someone who is coming from a not-so-old windows gaming laptop.

Laptops are more expensive in other countries. 4050 is kinda weak. CPU is great

Crosshair is a bit more luxurious and expensive than sword. When I buy - I mostly look at sale prices and specs and don’t limit myself by a specific model.

I’m thinking about getting a laptop for gaming. I have a gaming pc, but don’t use it most of the year when it’s hot, since it’s like turning on a heater, and the last thing I need is more heat here in TX. I don’t like running the a/c much so the temps in my house is pretty toasty. Almost November and still in the high 80s. 🥵. A laptop might solve my gaming situation as long as the laptop doesn’t produce a lot of heat. Does it?

Very little compared to a desktop but performance is lower. You might be better off taking this money + money from selling your desktop and buying a new more powerful desktop with decent cooling. Laptop 4060 is closer to desktop 3050, and i5 in gaming desktop of same generation is faster than i7 in laptop, + easy to upgrade + you already have a monitor

@oninc.6967 everybody complains about battery life of every laptop being below 2 hours. Many factors there. If it’s on charge all the time it will deteriorate quickly. Also you may have to switch to integrated graphics and turn off a bunch of things

How's the hinges doing so far? I never use MSI laptop but I've heard a lot of complaints about the hinges. I'm planning to upgrade my G-Strix to Sword 16 Hx but I a lil worry about the hinges problem.

Depends on max videocard power. One 4060 is faster than another. I7-14700 is faster than 13650 but might not always be relevant in games because fps will be limited by videocard. ROG is more luxury and should be nice with better screen quality: probably lower resonse time, better rgb colors etc I d take ROG most likely

Hey mine is slightly different but i guess no big difference: MSI Sword 16 HX B14VGKG- Intel Core i7-14700HX - 32 GB( 2× 16GB) - 1 TB - GeForce RTX™ 4070. It will arrive in the next 2-4 days... Wanted to ask you what should I do for the initial installations? As well as how to configurate the coolers? What should I do to take care of the battery? Any other advices? Maybe you have got a video dedicated for all of these questions for the following laptop?thank you!!!

I had this presold so I gave it to the owner. Basically what I do: I install stock Windows, sometimes buy codes for pro. Remove a dozen or 2 apps that come with it, a few setting twiks here and there. For the battery - don’t keep it on charge all the time, take off charge when it is fully (or close) charged, same with phones

It’s fine for a laptop, and laptop videocards cannot really handle much more in new games. You need laptop 4080 to step up the resolution at high settings and good fps.

@@unijosearg1755 mira, esta msi sword 16 tiene una potencia maxima de 115W en su GPU rtx 4060, es dentro del rango de potencia de un portatil, te va a permitir jugar juegos en 1080p todo en ultra a 60/80 fps estables, tambien dependera del juego y de los ajustes que les hagas en los graficos, pero es una pc que rinde bastante bien, jugando por ejemplo al resident evil 4 remake a 1080p con todo en alto llegue a mas de 100fps estables. en juegos como cs2 en 1080p y con todo en alto logre mas de 200fps estables, la verdad que es una excelente pc ademas de que tiene ddr5 a 5600 M/T y un procesador de 14th gen de intel que salio en enero de este año, ayudan a que los fps sean mas estables y con un excelente rendimiento en mi experiencia, si tenes el presupuesto es una excelente compra.
