Note for SP owners. There is an electrical connector for the fuel cap plus a drain hose that need to be disconnected before removing the tank

Where is this located? I disconected the drain hose but the the fuel cap connector i cant seem to find a way to take it off

@@Itsyunlo if I recall, the connector is under the tank at the other end of the lead from the cap

@@kwaka140 for some reason my tank wouldn’t come off even after disconnecting the plug. I managed to just hold the tank up with a small card board box and wiggled the ecu out of place 😭

@@Itsyunlo it will be really tight on the rubber mounts underneath. You have to pull it backwards really hard

And did you lay the cables? I'm currently facing the same challenge. Any recommendations?

@@Konrad_Adenauer I did, but ended up not lifting the tank. I ran them from the handlebar down through the headlight housing alongside the other cables to the frame. From there I ran them through the first part of the frame, but ran them out again through the opening in the side. And from there I just tucked them under the tank and under the seat. So you can see about 5-10 cm of wire between the tank and the opening in the frame. Maybe I will run them under the thank somewhere in the future.

I'm new to motorcycles so please bear with me. I own a 24' MT-09 and will eventually add a Yoshimura AT2 exhaust on my bike. Once I send in the ECU to be flashed is that considered all the tuning I need for the new exhaust? I'm assuming yes. Also, does the ECU flash resolve the issue with 1st and 2nd gear's lack of power? And will I have any 'Check Engine' lights (etc.) on my display once everything is complete?

I am about to lift the tank to put a usb cable under it is it enough to loosen in the back or have i to remove all the Plastik like you in the front for simple Lifting a bit

It has a lock you gotta release the lock to undo the connector

Does the gas tank have to be completely empty, or will it be fine even if the tank is full?

Answered my own question. You can actually just prop the gas tank up with a card board box, and fish out the ecu without having to tank the tank all the way off. Still have to remove the wire harness for the fuel pump and the vent hose though
