The S650 is failing because of those stupid screens, it's heavy, not tunable and don't forget $50,000+ for a lightly optioned Mustang GT. It just isn't better then the previous S550.
@fortheloveofnoiseКүн бұрын
My theory: Too much tech, no option for analog gauges, no more manual handbrake, interior is now generic, exterior is arguably a downgrade, price increase. The upgraded power is the only plus. Everything else is working against it. If GM does the new Firebird like they are planning with a V8 and make it look like a modern 2md gen, it will sell like hotcakes. Also, the new Charger will do well once they bring back the V8 in 2026.

@8lakk5unshineКүн бұрын
The problem is that Ford makes an untunable car that hot-rodders enthusiasts don't want at a price that people who don't mod cars can't afford. The C8 Stingray is only a bit more expensive [my GT costs 66k to build in 2025 which is about what a new base C8 costs (69k)]and you have this outcome. How do you change that? Simple: Make the car tunable, lower the price a bit, and fix those awful screens while your at it! And that is coming from a GT Premium owner.
@premonemoКүн бұрын
I’ll take your word since I’m not a mustang owner, and what you saying about pricing is a great point, however my question is how tuneable can an N/A car be? *I’ve always thought N/A involves bolt ons or min for a decent power increase.

You think the 10% financing rate has anything to do with it? The crappy economy? The govt's attack on tuners? The price of gas? They lacked refinement, but they were the best bang for the buck for a fun, fast car. I remember the 1985 Mustang GT, $10K to start, $13K fully loaded, and the only car that could beat it was the Grand National.
@devilsreject5343Күн бұрын
Ford turned the Mustang into the Camaro in terms of pricing. 63k for a Dark Horse which isn't even as powerful/comparable to a ZL1? The ZL1 debuted in 2017 at around 62k... 650hp, with a much better performance/setup than the Dark Horse. Ford's offering stupid HP upgrades but not warrantying the rest of the parts that are all bone stock (can't handle it over time). What do you think is going to happen? The whole reason the Mustang was even selling was because Ford offered deals, Ford used them as rentals far heavier than Dodge or Chevy, and they were affordable. Sure, you can still get a basic Mustang for in the 30s.... but why would anyone spend 62-64k on a 500hp Mustang? It's absurd....

There is a catch 22 that is limiting sports car sales. Young people are generally the ones who want them, but they can't afford them. Older people might have one as a weekend car, but they can't afford to pay for two cars. Plus, let's face it, car culture is dying with the new generation. There are young enthusiasts, but so many Gen Z aren't that excited to get their license and just don't get geeked out by cars the way previous generations did.

Add that extra large difference plus a 7-11% interest rate for someone over 750 credit score and your payment is close to if not $1000 plus. It's funny how something goes wrong in the industry like there was a chip shortage and covid and the price goes up but they never bring it back down. The other motivational factor for these companies keeping these ice engine cars high is that it makes the EV lowered price look more attractive. But the company is going to have to weigh the options. Is it worthwhile to keep the ev vehicle as the priority or just accept the loss because they're going to lose more by not pushing internal combustion engine vehicles. Especially with the government EV rebates and other buyer incentive offered by government enhancements going away.

"EV's are dying" is a false narrative. Add in dealer markups that are still happening and who can afford them? That said as the owner of many many Mustangs over the years, I hate the S650. It takes all the things I don't like about the S550 and doubles down on them. The last great looking Mustang was the final iterations of the S197. Also the Mustang is fat now, it's almost 4,000lbs in GT trim. The Mustang needs to get shorter, lighter, and cheaper like yesterday.

there's no way imma pay $50k for a ford mustang

The problem With the mustang is that it’s small so anyone 6”0 and above can’t fit comfortably in it also the mustang GT is governed at 151 MPH , and it’s expensive for a base model around 50K bring the base down to about 42 then they would get more sales cause even if you go to the dealership you won’t see a base mustang GT less than 50k cheapest I found one was 48K and that’s not worth it

Dodge already on that EV muscle timing

interesting video, to me the Mach E is a daily driver, and the mustang is for weekends, I'm hoping they make a four door that is like a hell cat or a scat

I'd by the 5.0 with the 700hp supercharged package on it. It was just under 50k with a warranty. Your not getting a zl1 or a hellcat new for sub 50.

Price is too damn HIGH!
@Groux5043 сағат бұрын
But you also have to take me consideration of the US dollar does not have the same purchase and power that it did in 2020. so in theory everything must rise in price

2024 are too expensive and the ecm is locked out so you can’t mod them anymore.

so basically Ford kill their own sales by pusing mustang customer into EV that is heavily discounted. end of story.
@easyrider306634 минут бұрын
So Ford having the only V8 in town decided to raise the price on the V8. And the same people that cried when Dodge killed it isn't buying the only V8 in town...Hey V8 enthusiast, what did you think would happen...cheap V8's🤣🤣

Because the s550 is a better car and guys are holding on to them. And I say this as somebody who hasn't owned a mustang gt since my 06.... but i've been wantinh another one and watching a lot of comparisons on both and doing research on both.... I think s550, especially 18+ is better mustang.

The short answer is: the economy. Everybody's either broke or money conscience.
@starrdogchamp1Күн бұрын
1st of all change that microphone out of your face. It looks terrible. 2nd the mach e isn't a mustang. It's a ev car SUV type. It's only 7 thousand more and they are practically giving it away. As far as the mustang goes, who wants to pay 60 grand for a mustang when for less you can buy used with similar power.

All car sales are down, hell NISSAN had to merge with Honda to not go bankrupt, so the Mustang didn't sell well, and all other new cars, the economy is crashing.
