I feel your pain Chris Had a nice one, cut the gills and put it in the livewell to bleed out & as I was closing the lid- it jumped back in the water

Chris, if it makes you feel any better... Fish and wildlife stopped me to check my fish. I keep my fluke in the livewell until I'm ready to go home, then bleed and put on ice back at home before cleaning once they firm up. The warden asks if I have any fish. I tell him I have a 25.5 inch in the livewell, along with an 18.5 inch fish. He opens the lid of the livewell, which sits on my swim platform, and grabs the 18.5 inch fish. As he is pulling it out, the larger fluke dies a "free willy," and the rest is history. I had some choice words lined up, but I was too shocked to do much more than laugh my ass off. The game warden put the 18.5 inch fluke back in the livewell without measuring, shut the lid, and told me to have a nice day... Not another keeper all day.
